I am about to make some photographic calculation, which are base on aperture, focal length and film size. Sadly there is no information about the exact millimeter size of the active sensor area, unlike proper digicams.

I would write an email to SE Customer Support although I do doubt this question would ever get an answer. So, having this impression that some forum members have contacts to SE, I'd appreciate some help. To whom I should address this kind of question, or maybe you could get this info? Only the physical size, nothing else. Should not be top top secret, as this info is available among digicams.

Besides, I don't care about assumptions, but pure facts. Thanks!

not top secret. You can measure it yourself - search se-nse.com for the K750 assembly guide.

Thanks, but no thanks. I remember that article how to dissmantle K750 to swap casing, handy for removing off the dust too. I even had saved a Word doc with illustrations collected from two sources, as you can see her. With other words, it's like I remembered, you better not break apart that camera module. Not me anyway!

it's in the region of 3-5mm, that's my best guess

Yeah, I share your estimation. There is smallest size of 3x4mm mentioned, and actaually I searched two early digicam models with 2MP sensor, so most likely so.

Anyway I got reply to my email from local Customers Support; the won't forward my question. It's not public info. If K750 had been a digicam, this problem never exists.....

Just ask SE what company they buy their camerasensors from... i don't think that would be a secret and then contact them...

Yes, I also got this idea to write a letter to SE's HQ in Lund - gärna på svenska, förstås. (=naturally in Swedish)

you can buy camera modules on the open market - you could google a parts retailer and call them - I'm sure they'd be happy to give you the sensors specs.

I did some Googling and found Sony IMX-011, a 2MP CMOS Image Sensor, F 2.8 with image size diagonal 6.03mm.

The likeness is there?

EDIT: another PDF document included facts about IMX011, and the image size is the same. This is called 1/3" sensor size. Nice to know now.

sorry to wake up an old thread, but I have a question about the camera module. is the glass covering the lens attached to the camera module itself or to the case, or is it independent of both?

xan K,

All I remember reading here - or another forum - that someone went to a optician to get replaced that protective sheet with optical quality glass. So it must be possible to replace it, I presume. Try Search and PM that person to be sure.

It's on the camera module. I recently swapped one from an old camera module to my own.

You can prise it off carefully with a jewellers screw driver. It is plastic, and yes, you could replace it with a glass piece of the same size.

I'm looking for something glass myself, now that I'm using the w810 back cover on my K750 (it has no active lense cover).
