hi im new here.
i'm from Holland. I just got the w810i Orange branded version in the Orange Shop.
I think i found a bug, try doing the following:
1. Press and hold camerabutton on the right side until you get in camera-mode
2. turn on LED by pressing *
3. toggle a few times from video/picture (i did this 3 times)
4. Wait 1 sec
5. now the LEDs are flashing, whether you are take a picture or not..
see http://www.student.tue.nl/P/d.j.salampessy/MOV00001.3gp
nevertheless awesome phone with great features!!
and this video has a nice framerate: 1.515152 @ 176x144, according to VLC player

try doing a master reset and see if the flash problem goes away. back-up the files stored on your phone first. also, take out the memory stick before doing a master reset.

in the video, the light stops flashing aftera while. does it happen every time you use the camera? if not, better to just not change between video/camera so quick. cheers

yeh it stopped flashing because i pressed * so you could see the difference. But if i didn't it would've flash eternally.. so basically yes, it happens every time i use the camera...
I thought it might had something to do with me playing with the 'flash-LED-test in the service menu >*<<*<*<
^.^
edit: damn it, master reset didn't help

as you can see edit previous post, it didn't work. I also tried without Memorystick, didn't help...
i really think it is a firmware-issue, and since i got orange branded, i guess i'm taken analy by orange. |

Sorry for my usage of dutch in this thread, it was easier to explain to the topic starter what I had to say this way.

@scapevlocity
do you also have the ORANGE version or is it on the unbranded too??
and someone know where to find firmwares
edit:
I found out that there are to states of LED's flashes:
1. Normal - (when * is pressed in cameraview)
2. Extra Bright - Just before the picture is taken..
Well, when i toggle between video/foto (step3 TS), it seems that suddenly the LEDs stay in state 2 instead of state 1, and after that it'll flash on/off...

i have a w810i and i have the same fault. I have even tried going through to organiser and tools menu to turn the light on and it still flashes on that aswell as both modes on camera. I previously owned two other w810i's and they had the same fault. These two had to be sent back due to two buttons. the walkman and the right direction button, just stopped working so watch out for that aswell.
Cheers guys |

mine just starts flashing on and off out of the blue. doesn't happen all the time, but it's kind of annoying still.
no new firmware yet. mine is unbranded, FW R4CF002.

okay, so basically this is a major bug which should definetely be solved in an upcoming firmware.. Someone should report this to SE, if they haven't found out yet...
If all w810i's have this bug, then it would be useless to bring it back to the shop to get a new one....
the pain is unbearable -Need New Firmware!! :|:|:| |
