The AKU2 should be available for windows mobile 5 devices from Monday on the i-mate site

The update offer support for push email, but for me more interestingly, A2DP support. The remote wipe support is also included which enables the device to be master reset remotely should it be lost thus not allowing any personal data to get into the hands of anyone who steals of finds the device

I'll be installing it asap so watch this space

ok well I loaded the latest firmware last night and am very dissapointed, gutted, that i-mate have excluded A2DP support from the update.

this morning I notice that msmobiles has a couple of articles on the subject

i-mate releases ROM upgrade with Push Email for i-mate K-JAM !

WARNING: operators and distributors and manufacturers want to CHEAT YOU OUT OF A2DP (stereo audio over Bluetooth) !

... apart from that let down I can say that performance is definitly enhanced. I know a few people have considered the k-jam a little slow at times but I have generally not had complaints.

However one time I really noticed a performance issue was navigating the menus while avantgo was synchronising. It was almost impossible to do anything else while that was going on.

I can now happily report that I can do most things at almost normal speed while avantgo is synchronising so thats a plus. Apart from that I can see a defniite improvement in menu navigation, web page browsing etc etc..

So, I definitly recommend the update but at the same time what a dissapointment

so, has anyone else done this update?

I'm well pleased with the performance improvements, its quite noticeable

also, I read today that the update is out for the Qtek version of this too. its also out for the JasJar

its seems though that none of these got the A2DP support though I heard a rumour that it will be availabale in the next update (yeah yeah...)

unfortunately i-mate only let you into the support parts of their site for devices that you have registered, which requires entry of an imei

I haven't seen any mention of AKU2 for Jamin in the general i-mate forums, or elsewhere either
