I agree with you Boba back there specially now that we are already in the 3G age (long been celebrated ago in Japan though) . . . that one of the things to look for in the latest fones is how good it will receive/send video calls . . . but then again, let us NOt forget what the primary use of celfones: Calls ! SMS is just secondary I guess . . .

indeed, but now we are talking about a 3g fone, so the former mentioned facts are more then important at the final judgement!

in that case the nokia6310i should have got the award.it's battery just went on & on & on. it was a 3g award & nothing from motorola deserved it.let's face it the v3x is sad.

I know beg to differ, sine using the generic firmware for the phone...It has been a great improvement all round..all of the above mentioned seem to have gone.
A good example would be the battery life issue on 3...my phone is now able to push between 2-3 days without recharging where as it would only go for a day on the 3 firmware.
I also had a major issue with the 3 firmware deleting my numbers randomly...this has since stopped and also added a small clip of the caller in the phonebook when scrolling down.
The menu is now pretty simple to naviagte and much better looking and the camera has been pretty much good on all firmwares.
The browser is fine and renders well and BT is much better...
So to be honest I kinda blame the network operated firmwares that have been put in this phone..had it come out with the OEM firmware from the start it would have been a different story.

Congratulations to MOTO . Let's not ignore the fact - N70 come a close second ! This will certainly push the sales figure up. Is a pity SE did not manage to get anything There is always a 'next year' Greetings from South Africa. Mario

Buddy, you've got the timing wrong by a 'few' years. The 7650 is a 2002 model. We are now in 2006. The N80 thou may win next year, althou I hope that SE or Alcatel or any other small company will win. They need the media exposure to crank up the sales. Greetings from South Africa. Mario :D

the v3x had problems right from the testing phase with 3,even before the firmware was tweaked for 3. next year SE will get the award for the manufacturer who made the most amount of blackberry lookalikes in 2006.nokia's n91&se's p990i will have a fierce battle for the award for the phone which took the longest time to get to the stores.
