Think i'm going to return mine, getting like 2-3hrs battery life. I think thats pretty poor, thought it'll improve with charging cycles, but i hate it when the music cuts off when i'm in the gym or on a long journey!
The indicator is terrible as well: decreases from 100% to say 75% at a steady rate, then drops to 10% without notice ???
Though software and connecting issues are not evident, battery life is more important to me.

Does anyone know CPW returns policy, do i get 14 days to return for a refund or exchange - may get the HMP with the remote?

Have people tried going to the SE in Kensington to ask about firmware upgrades?

i've read you cannot have 2 phones connected with full BT functionality yet up to 10 deviced can be paired at one time.

i have a SE p990 and Moto v360 and need a BT headset that would work with both at the same time. Can I have hbh-ds970 set to pick up calls from moto v360 and at the same time listen to music from p990, but if suddenly there was a call on p990 change settings in BT headset quickly enough to pick up that call?

if that is not possible, do you know of any other bluetooth stereo headset that would work with 2 phones. cos this is a number one priority but would like to be able to listen to music from my p990.

You can check it from the phone. The number printed on the back of the headset is the hardware revision, not the firmware. Here's how to check the firmware:

With the headset connected to the phone, go to the menu>settings>connectivity>accessories>then select the DS970

My firmware is R2B and hardware is R2A

How to check the firmware of HBH-DS970 thru P990?
I think the above steps are for non symbian phone.
Thanks.

My headset decided to freeze on me today during a phone call.

The display lights is permanently on now and the buttons won't respond. I've tried the reset method in the manual, but nothing happens. No beeps or anything.

Anyone had this problem?

Also, I'm also suspicious that my unit is not an original. Is there anyway I can tell?

Been using mine for 2 weeks now. Am a happy puppy.

Yet, I do agree about the battery meter, very bad indicator, after 75% all of a sudden it drops like rock. You'd think SE would have better engineers for something so basic.

My headset crashes every time I get an incoming call whilst listening to music. It doesn't respond like you describe. The only way to reset it is to plug the charger in. This makes the device total rubbish to me. i plan on sending it to se to have them upgrade the firmware.

Of course it's possible to get one from Hong Kong eBay sellers... they most likely won't be genuine though. There's another thread on Esato which goes into some depth on the numerous fakes on there. Have a look at: http://213.19.178.16/se/
