Before when i put less than around 500MB of data on my High Speed MSPD 2GB card i didn't have any problems with my W800i, (i'm sure) it was until i exceeded this and put in total 1026MB of data that the phone has started to freeze randomly and reset. It seems to be behaving now though, but when i take the card out and put it back into the phone it freezes for about 10 seconds.

Also the biggest problem is when turning on the phone it takes 20 seconds until the 'Sony Ericsson' logo dissapears to bring up the 'Start Phone' or 'Start Music Player' menu (flight menu). Could this be fixed with a new improved firmware perhaps?

Anyone got a 2GB Memory card with close to 1GB worth of data on- and has these problems?

maybe its because you have too much stored in your card for your w800i to handle it. p910 has a better processor and there aren't much freezing or waiting problems.
Nothing is more difficult, and therefore more precious, than to be able to decide.

I've put music and films on mine too but it's going abit slow. I havent had any serious problems so far that i had in the start (such as it stopping all together, the screen going black, then white). Then sometimes i'd have to take the battery out and upon turning the phone on again it went straight back to standby mode without even bringing up the flight menu or asking me for my PIN.

Are you running the same firmware version? R1AA008?

Turns out I am still having problems with my 2GB High Speed MSPD Card. Everytime i pull it out and put it back in again it pauses for ages, and when i select the camera or the music player sometimes it freezes (upon reading the memory card).

I used a 64MB MSPD card and it was speedy as anything and didn't freeze at all. Anyone else experience any of these problems- or anything similar?

watsup! (heard you had an exam 2day- hope it went well

I meant to ask u b4 if u had loading problems- don't think i got round to it though . Your phone doesn't freeze and resets does it Dale? It's a shame, u wudda thought that Sony Ericsson's memory cards would work in their sony products!

I just have to be extra careful when doing stuff on my phone now- and it's very unpredictable, i can't anticipate when it's about to load properly or shut off completely. I hope that in their next firmware version (after R1AA008) they'll have fixed these problems with using high capacity memory cards when loadza data is stored on them.

exam was good thanks :P

yea, i have to be careful to, waiting for the phone to load. i dont have the prob of taking it out and putting it back tho, its good like that but programs freezing more often, but there was a post on here i think i told you about where p910i users saying about how their p910i's are going slow even with smaller sized memory cards so i think it could be to the firmware. yea i agree you'd think they would have sorted it both products being sony.

Hmm, well it seems as if the problem may be my fault. I checked the file system of the 2GB card and it read 'FAT32'. I checked the file system of thge 64MB card that came with my phone originally and that read 'FAT'. So i formatted the 2GB to FAT and i think it's working properly now. I can put the card in and out of the phone and it will load without problems and doesn't pause for ages, just takes 1 second to refresh like normal.

P.s: I apologise to Sony, your memory card products rule!

I'd like to stupidly go back on my word... the card is still playing up! It seemed as if it was behaving but once again i'm battling with it cuz it keeps freezing my phone. When i get a phone call the screen stays blank but vibrates, that is until i plug the card out when the screen will refresh and will finally bring up an incoming call alert.

I've used up 1.25GB out of the total of 2GB. It's a high speed memory stick pro duo card- if anyone can help i would appreciate it- very much!
