im thinking of buying one of these.. i really like the video capabilities of the w900.. but i can get the w800 for much cheaper... 3G is currently not available where i am but in a few months it will be.. are the video capability and internal memory the only thing the w900 has an advantage over the w800? which one should i get? i'm buying one of these next week probably.. |

-w900 and why i will tell you-
the w800 can only handle 1gb pro duo
but w900 up till 2gb.
the 3gp video is 320*240@30fps in the w900
176*220(or something)@15fps as in w800
the w900 is clean and the design is very unic, the "rotate" solution is just cool.
the w900 does not have a joystick (wich i think is good)
the awsome screen, you will be able to preview your pics and encode HIq videos with mp4 and display with pleasure.
the hp-80(radio) with controller for the walkman funktion is sweet, with a easy way to use any headphones you like just unplug the ones that came with your phone.
i have exellent 3g net where i live, but that's not why i bought it, i have disabled 3g due to it just consumes battery and i never use it (don't want to) 3g is just a plus, and it should be there.
the themes with flash lite/gif aninims rocks on that big screen.
i think that was it all for now
yeah 470mb internal memory is not bad ether.. no need to hurry and buy a memorystic

Ive got both, and they both have their plus and minus points. It all comes down to whether you will benefit from the 3g functions. If you would and you can put up with the extra size, then id say get the w900. If you wont use the 3g functions then the smaller package of the w800 is probably best? Or you could even hang on and get the w810?
P.s - the w800 can take 2gig cards as well. I use the same 2 gig card in both my w900 and w800 |

on the SE site it says only 1gb for the w800 and 2g for the w900, but i have heard that it's a f/w thing, can be supported later if SE chose to
but seems it works anyway i just used the info on SE homepag. |

A lot depends on your needs. If you just want a good phone with an excellent still camera, MP3 player and a built in FM Radio then get a W800 (BTW it supports 2GB MSPD cards). However if you are planning to use 3G or like big screens and don’t mind the size or the price of the W900 then you wont regret buying a W900.
However if you are open to non SE options, then I feel a N70 is a better deal for the price. It has all the features of W900 + Integrated Radio, Smart phone.

No it is not a f/w thing...
w800 supports the full MSPD standard that is up to 30GB+
will never say that a phone supports more memory than available on the market.
When the w800 was released there were 1GB MSPD cards out...

Right now there are 4GB and 8GB MSPD cards announced.
So when launch a new phone with MSPD support they will say it supports up to 8GB MSPD cards even though it supports the full standard and future cards. |

I've used a 4GB in mine (w800) worked fine. The card wasn't mine it was in a shop though...

Go for W900, since 3G is becoming available on your area soon.

@optiplex, it's not true that N70 has everything W900 can offer. W900 is not a smartphone but has better camera, better music player, better video recording, and better screen compared to N70.

@tomw800, are 4GB MSPD available already? How much did you bought yours? |

@tom:
Didn't you run away from the shop while you had it slotted in the phone? I know I would!

At W900, check if you have the possibility to disable 3G.
I owned a K600i which doesn't have this function. Even if I select 2G network, the phone commutes automatically to 3G network when it finds it.
This is not too god, because in areas with week 3G signal (those countries, like Romania, where the 3G network is not well developed), during commuting to 2G network, your phone is dead: for 10 to 30 seconds you will not be able to make or receive calls. |

I have to agree the nokia n70 is not as good as the w900 the internal memory and video frame rate are two points it loses out on. |
