The radio is not worth it at any price. Poor reception and no way of tuning or controlling it via the phone. Very bulky when connected to the T68. Would not recommend.

I can not find a FM radio for the T68, All the ones that I have found are for the T10 up to a T28.

Anyone know where I can get one. I have looked in the normal places, Sony Ericsson's E-shop and Carphone Warehouse, Phones4U.

It's The HPR-11 that's compatible with the T68...

HPR-11 IS COMPATIBLE WITH ALL 3V ERICSSON PHONES.... SUCH AS T28, T29, R520, T39, T66 AND T68!

I HAVE PERSONALLY USED IT WITH MY T68. IT LOOKS OK BUT WHEN ON THE MOVE, THE RECEPTION IS SOMEWHAR UNSTABLE AND YOU DONT GET MUCH SATISFACTION AS A RESULT. I LIVE IN A GOOD RECEPTION AREA IN LONDON, WHERE MY OTHER RADIO DEVICES WORK MUCH BETTER!

I ALSO HATE THE OPERATIONAL PART OF THE RADIO. YOU NEED A RADIO THAT CAN STORE STATIONS AND PREFERABLY VIEW THE STATION YOU ARE ON I.E. 8310!

DONT GET ONE, OPT FOR MP3 PLAYER FOR T68! MUCG BETTER QUALITY BUT NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR A RADIO! PRICES ARE NOT THAT MUCH MORE AND THE MP3 IS MUCH BETTER VAKUE FOR MONEY THAT ERICSSON'S PRIMITIVE HPR 111 RADIO

I don't agree with you . The radio is working quite well, Yours is maybe defectuous. I find the the quality /price rate is much better on the radio than on the MP3 player

I take it you're talking about the HPR-08? The HPR-11 is now available on the website, but for £17.86 + postage. Or is there a special offer I've missed?

OK, well contrary to advice I ordered a HPR-11, and here's a balanced view (I hope). For a start, delivery was excellent. Arrived very quickly. Nicely packaged, with it's own little branded case and on first impressions looked good, if a little plasticky. Plugged it in, and I agree - it is much too big. Also it doesn't match the phone at all, and looks a bit cheap plugged into the bottom of it. Controls are simple, but again feel very cheap. Headphones look great, but aren't laballed left or right, which seemed a bit odd. Turned on and... the radio quality is stunningly awful - hardly any bass whatsoever, just sounds really tinny. Even worse, and IMHO totally unforgivable, I suddenly realised why the headphones aren't labelled - it's MONO!!! Why oh why oh why? Finally I can't work out the tuning - it's almost impossible to know where you are without a display. Apparently it's up to tune up, down to tune down, but it seemed more like up to tune up, down to take it straight back to the start (87KHz or whatever). You find yourself praying they'll say the frequency as you skim by!

Onto call quality, and it's actually brilliant, particularly after listening to the radio. Mutes the radio very effectively when someone calls, and then brings it in afterwards just as you'd expect. Also works just as a handsfree when the radio's turned off. Haven't tried using it as a handsfree outside yet, but anything's got to be better than the standard T68 mic... As a radio while you're walking, I agree, the reception's awful, even when listening to major radio stations with good signal strength.

So to sum up, good handsfree, poor radio, but then it's just about what you'd expect for the cost of a standard handsfree. It's a shame it wasn't a tenner more with better integration with the phone (on-screen-display), better build quality, better reception and stereo.

So would I buy one in retrospect? If it was mainly for use as a handsfree, possibly, although it's a very bulky one and a dedicated handfree would be far more practical. As a dedicated radio (replacement for a personal stereo for example) it's not worth considering, but for occasional use it's just about adequate. One final advantage is that you end up listening to stations you'd not normally listen to when you finally give up trying to find Radio 1! I was even listening to Radio 4 last night...

Hope this helps.

Adam
