Couple of questions regarding W900 firmware:
I want English language obviously, but I'm not sure which FS files to choose. I take it there isn't one for Australia? I understand that if you don't have the right CDA for the region you're in, you can't update via SEUS for future updates. How important would this be, anyway? Are they even going to come out with future updates for this phone?

Disabling 3G increases the battery life by around 50% - it's worth it.

Use the EU2 firmware and enter "CDA102418/10" as the CDA. This means SEUS will still work. That said, it looks like SE has discontinued all support for this phone which is a shame as it's one of their better models IMO. All it needs is an update to its bluetooth stack to support A2DP and better file-management in the music player and it'd be a near-perfect phone.

Thanks a bunch for replying.

I guess I'll take the plunge and flash my phone then. 50% is a lot. I assume that's for when you're in a high 3G coverage area and it's constantly switching between 2G and 3G? Where I live there isn't full 3G coverage, but even a 10% battery increase is a lot as far as I'm concerned.

One thing I am concerned about though is the lower JBenchmark scores with newer firmware (R5BC004). The overall sluggishness of the phone seems to get worse with each firmware that was released. People with R5BC004 often complain of slow animation speed and file menu browsing. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Using wotanserver, if I did decide to go for an earlier firmware version, could I still tick the box that says "Enable full-featured Networks Menu (2G/3G)" on the Wotanserver client program?" and have the option available to me?

Also, does ticking the box that says "disable camera shutter sound" actually work?

Question about R5BC004..

1) Is that true only 35MB (where only 1MB+ free space) for application/game installed on Phone memory?

2) If update via SEUS, the EROM color is Red or Brown ?

1) Yes, even W900i built with 470MB on phone, but R5BC004 seem like "limit" the app/game install portion memory part, up to 36MB only (but only 1-2MB free space).

Hi All,

Its been some time that I have not updated my W900i & just now from R5BB got an R5BC004 EMEA2.

Though I don't notice that much difference.
