It seems to get much better look than P990. Hope, it will be quad-band GSM + 3G also.
3G does not mean, that the frontal camera of the phone is necessarily. Like Nokia E60, E61. You can use 3G network without video calls as well.

but those phones do seem a little pointless as the main reason for 3g is being able to make video calls....

no, 3G means higher bandwidth than GPRS (for example) and one use that can be made from that higher bandwidth is video calling
I have used 3g extensively but have never made single video call

One phone with quad-band GSM + 3G is very good tool also for business man and for other people, who travel a lot. For example in Japan and South Korea there is no GSM network, but 3G is spreading quite fast. And as we know, GSM 850 is going to be more and more popular in North and South America.
So, let's hope that this smartphone we are talking about will be the first "five"-band phone from SE.

i'd say the for non business comsumers, the biggest reason for getting a 3g phone is for video calls.

its a really hard to use the n70 keypad, bit uncomforteable... this one looks for me a punishment... give a try for n70, then u ll know what i am talking anout...
