Recently ive found it very hard to get to sleep at night, and I don't kow why. Last night I went to bed around 12, but couldnt get to sleep till sometime passed 3am uk time. And I wake around half 7, this means im just getting around 4 and a bit hours of sleep ever night. I dno't drink, smoke, do drugs or anything like that, and am in no phisical pain so I guess its a mental thing.

Anyone know how I can get to sleep eariler?

Cheers Luke

I sometimes have the same problem. My mind is racing when trying to get to sleep. The trick is to set your mind to nice relaxing thoughts. Think of a pleasant journey you went on recently or read if you still can't sleep. :-)

before considering pills or other things you put in your body, do you excercise? I always find I sleep soundly after a good work out

when you lay to go sleep, dont think about 101 things, just try to blank everything out and you will fall asleep.

exercise is the answer mate. I go for a pushie ride if I'm too wired to sleep. Also, don't worry about it too much, stress doesn't help sleep.
I understand fully, and have the exact problem. I often stay up till 2-3am just because I know once I stick my head down I'll lie there for ages bored out of my skull before I start to get tired.

edit: oops, missed trogs answer there. His answer is more correct, don't listen to a thing I said

How strange! Both I and my girlfriend have been having trouble getting to sleep ourselves foe the past couple of days too. Tried pills (nightol I think), alcohol (couple of glasses of sherry), clearing my head and having relaxing thoughts and exercise before bed. But none has worked.

Maybe trogdor’s suggestion is worth a try, and I’ll say it was recommended .

there's always that too. Get a doctor's certificate for medicinal use for the condition of insomnia.
