I had the oportunity to have a play a few times with the A1000 and the only good things I can say about it is the camera is fine and cuz of the UIQ interface it feels like the P series (to which I am very familiar). Other than that it's slow as hell, a bit ankward to use cuz it has so many unnecessary shortcuts u can't remember...get a P 910i if u don't want trouble. The slowness might annoy u to death..oh, and battery sucks compared to P910i which I now use.

I found that quite ok being a bit thinner than my p910i.And it has a cool blue Moto logo at the ear piece.

IMO there is nothing to protect the screen. It can get cracked easily and scratched if you dont have a screen protector.

Its rather slow too plus I think that Sony Ericsson is the leading market in Symbian OS phones. There might not be much external help if required with the Motorola A1000, nice try to Motorola for entering the market tho but as soon as the P900 hit the scene, it was for sure that SE meant business! That device is still some hot piece of @$$

I had both P910 (for abut 7 months) and A1000 (for about 5 months).

If You are a 3 g subscriber, i will go for A1000, because you have 3 g speed download and upload (till 384 kbs for download and till 64 kbps for upload), because A1000's browser suports flash.
And if you experience "Network Busy" on your GSM network, on the 3 g network you won't see this, at least not so often.
Another minor advantage is the videocall.
Another advantage is the camera.
Another big advantage is T9, it is very usefull.
And another advantage is that you can use Sman on A1000.
And now what i don't like about A1000, comparing with P910.
It is slower, but this is also depending on the soft version.
For example, with a soft from 3 g network from UK (Hutchinson, iff i remember), the browser took me between 15 to 20 sec to open.
The same A1000 with a soft from Vodafone Germany, the browser took me between 5 to 8 sec to open.
Also, you have just around 50 programs available, comaring to over 1500 for P910.
Also P910 is moore stable then Motorola.
The batery is about the same, and the size too:

For A1000 a MicroSD card is cheaper, that is an advantage.
Also A-gps is an advantage, iff your network is providing this.

Now, if u are not a 3 g subscriber i will go for P910.
