I have to disagree. The design of the phone is simple and cool. Beautiful lines and, remember, Nokia set a new trend with their own phones... So why can't do the same?
They are looking for a new design line, of course the phones will not be perfect from the beginning, but I think that soon we will start liking the design. It is the same for many new cars or clothing, at first they look awful, but eventually one gets used to them.
I have a question concerning the screen of the phone. Is it with or without shades of grey? I hope it is like the t39 only bigger.
I think people with little money can still wait for color screens.
In my opinion that phone is a good one for the target it is intended to.
Now, regarding a new version of t68, I think they will first have to complete the line, have many models on the market instead of spending money just for one model which is too expensive for the majority of the target. I like the logo on the back of it, it is really cool!!!
I personally don't see why should release a new t68i when they are months away from UMTS. So I guess they are just waiting to see how it develops and eventually the t68 successor will be the first UMTS small sized phone available. I think it is just a matter of having to catch up with the line and having little time. My opinion is that they have set the priorities in the right way.

why don't they hire the old Ericsson designers??? the guys who made the T28 family??? (R320, R520, T39, T68)
Or better yet, why don't they hire Philippe Starck to make a core design for a low-end, mid-range, high-end, communicator platforms? God...both SE and Nokia seem to be grabbing ideas from any art/design freshman out there! I wouldn't be surprised if they were doing it blindfolded too! |

I can live with this, as long as it is cheap.
But, I prefer T300, I use a lot of GPRS, for browsing the internet.
GPRS is free in the Phillipines.

I fully agree with Pinolo!
I think the new SE design is just excellent and really stands out from the topical one-alike-another design in the mobile market.
Just give SE some more time to announce some more products to fully develop their new design line.
Already now I feel that SE has found a matching design and you can recognize you are looking at a unique SE product seeing a phone from them.
I am oh so sick of all those Nokia look-alikes!
I agree that its an unusual design and at first sight even annoying even. - But with time you get used to it and recognize its uniqueness, open-mindedness. Its a clear design and I am sure in some months time everyone will equal SE design with modern design.
SE shows some grip and attitude here.
Lets all wish they succeed so we all retain our alternative to the evil N**** bastards from Finland!
Amen.

PS: And besides. The T100 is just a entry-level phone. Consider it a pre-paid budget phone. The price will be well-below T200.
And its light and SLIM(!).. As slim as our beloved T28s were!! |

My brother, who works for ericsson, had it in his hand yesterday. He said it was very cool. I said that it didnīt look that nice in the photos. He replied that in real life it is goodlooking.
I hope that is true ....... |

i think the T100 will be better then the T200 because made it this time. for example you'll see your battery times in hours whit the T200,R600 and A3618 you could not see that. |

Did you say design is modern? duh! I think it's ugly... I was thrilled when they said SE release a new mobile! but after seing that piece of... well... whatever!... I was very very very disapointed!...
I guess I won't be buying SE!.. maybe Panasonic, or Siemens have more interesting mobiles! |

You know what? - I am glad not everyone likes the new SE design.
What a boring world would this be if everyone had the same taste?
I am sure that we all wouldn't agree on the same style of clothes, cars, glasses, shoes, whatever... you name it!
So just relax.. and if you dont like the SE T100 - then go for another phone... (hopefully another SE)
cheers,
