S700i mp3 ringtones |

I need a advice urgently peeps, my s700i wont let me use my mp3 ringtones for alarm or for contacts etc , they worked last week, only thing i added was a new 128mb memory stick duo, that wouldnt affect it? The mp3's are saved on the phone memory and there is lots of room left. I was thinking of doing a master reset (if that would resolve it?) but wasnt too keen on losing information already on the phone i.e. games. Please help.

are the MP3s saved in the right folder?
can you see them when you browse the files anywhere on your phone?

yep i have saved them in the right folder with the default ringtones you get with the phone. I can see and play them in media player, but when i go to try and use it as a ringtone they disappear, the phone also slows down a little when looking for ringtones. its a strange one this! |

i remember having this problem also. Its been awhile since ive messed with it, so im not sure how to fix it :-\
my old solution was to browse them on the phone where u can save then, then move them to the phone - then they will be there haha.
but i remember having this problem also, but im sorry i dont remember how to fix it.

go to file manager.
go to 'sounds'
scroll down to the chosen mp3
press 'more'
then select 'use'
then select 'set as ringtone'
hope that helps

if noone comes up with a solution to this, ill check mine out when i get home and see if mine does the exact same thing or not.
could flash your phone to a newer firmware and would probobly be fine.
but u said u dont want to lose what u have on it.
ill think about it more |

thanks eastcoaststar, i also sent the mp3's from my old k500i and they work on that phone, but unsuccessful on the s700i. i could save bookmarks etc to another phone, would a master reset do the trick? i dont have a syncro station if i want to update the phone, so im a bit limited. cheers chunkybeats |
