I am, as many of you, anxiously awaiting the p800, and was tremendously disappointed with the delay. I've actually been looking to other alternatives (7650), and been considering buying another phone instead of waiting for SE . Before I make a desiscion I need to know what I can expect of the SMS writing speed of the p800....the speed of the t68 really pisses me off, and I would hate for p800 to be equally slow. So what do you guys think? Any input is appreciated.

PS: Tell me everything that's crap with 7650. I need help to not buy it It really is the p800 I want....

the t68 isnt that slow on writing sms any more.. after the upgrade it doesnt delay that much, it doesnt bother me at least!

But I too am anxious about if the p800 has as slow meny system as the t68, the t68 lags awful lot!

so any of you testers out there, please reply to this post, is the p800 also infectede with the "SE Lag Syndrom" ?

The prototype of P800 i tried, was fast in the menues, but the Beta Symbian OS 7 was very buggy, but quite fast.

sk, are you kidding? the T68i and other highend Ericsson/SE phones are sooooo slow! It all started with the T28, and hasn't gotten better. Funny, the A-series, and the T66 are pretty fast.

The P800 should not have any lag/delay whatsoever... the R380 ran incredibly fast... both with the keypad, and handwriting recognition.

Well, as I said, I'd very much like to know NOW, as I'm considering buying Nokia 7650. I really hope, and do think, that it'll be fast, but I'd like to hear from more people who have tested it.....

It (composing SMS) is slow on T68i if you have been using Nokias for a long time. Nokias tend to have a faster processing speed than Ericssons. As far as I am concerned; I will still suggest you guys to adapt a wait and see approach and let the P800 to be released because even if it is slower when composing SMS the overall functions of the P800 out-qualify the 7650 easily.

I read in an article that it is very hard to use the keypad of 7650 when texting, due to the imbalance of the weight of the 2-part phone. So if you often send sms, you might be disappointed. :-)

I have tried the P800 and the handwriting recognition system is pretty easy to use and is quite fast. Using the attached keypad is kind of hard to use since u have to push the keys all the way down to write. So if u get used to the handwriting thing it is very fast I can say. Also the virtual keyboard is easy to use and if u are familiar with the letter positions on a q-keyboard that is also very fast. So overall the response of the phone to actions are fast enough to satisfy - I think - everyone.
By the way u are probably comparing the speed of the previous Nokias cause I have also tried 8310 and even though the menu is fast which I believe T68 i is also fast, getting into the SMS inbox is really a hassle especially if you have a couple of messages in it. My friend has one and u have to wait around 6-8 seconds for the inbox to load. So the better and more complex the phones get and smaller also, the slower they will be. Either small, smart and a bit slow, or big, bulky, standard phones but faster, it is your choice! I hope I could help a bit!

If you buy the 7650, you will regret it. The keyboard is not as comfortable or accessable, due to it's design it slides out from under the phone and you carry the whole weight of the phone on the top of the keyboard.

The P800 has a touch screen, it is also equipt with a very fast CPU (for Symbian OS). You will probably be entering text using handwriting recognition or virtual keyboard rather than the keypad.

Umm well is it slow let me see, how the F*@k are people ment to know this it has not been released crying out loud what the hell is the point of this, we will see when it comes out. DOn't you people have a life or something or is there really nothing else to talk about. YOu must know for yourself that the software is going to change that is going to speed up things ect so what is the point. The users right now may experiance it to be slow or some bugs here and there thats why it is NOT RELEASED yet and in TESTING. Its like Windows XP it was in beta for ages cause they were trying to establish where bugs are in there product thats what SonyEricsson are doing right now, so you can't say for example windows XP is shit cause it always crashes WHEN ITS IN TESTING gawd people stop this shit.
