OK guys, in addition to the topic I posted yesterday, here are the settings. Note that I am an O2 Pay Monthly customer using Yahoo! UK and a SE P910i. Hence the setting maybe different for different networks and Pay&Go customers and phones.

First of all, you need to set up a new internet account.
Go to "Control Panel" and press the "Connections" tab then press "Internet accounts". Press "New".

For your account name type O2 GPRS and select the GPRS option from the connection type drop down menu. Press "Advanced".

Enable "user name and password option required" then enter these settings:
user name:o2web
password: password
Address: mobile.o2.co.uk

Press "Done" 3 times to return to the control panel.

On the control panel, press "Messagin accounts".
Press "New" and enter these settings on the "Basic" page:

Account name: Yahoo!
Your name: your name
Email address: [your yahoo id]@yahoo.co.uk
Connection type: POP3
Internet account: O2 GPRS

Go to the "Inbox" page by pressing the "Inbox" tab and enter these setting:

username: your yahoo user name
password: your yahoo password
Incoming address: pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk

Go to the "Outbox" page and enter these settings:
Outgoing address: smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk
Enable "use SMTP authentication"
Enable "use Inbox login details"

Press the right arrow on the tabs to go to the "Advanced page" and enter these settings:

Disbale "Secure connection"
Otgoing port: 587
Incoming port: 110
Disable "password authentication"
Press "Done" 2 times to return to the control panel.

You should be able to use the Yahoo! account on your phone. If you have any problems, reply to this thread and I will get back to you ASAP.

Yahoo!'s .com domain doesn't offer POP services (for free accounts), unfortunately. Life would be much easier if they did.

The man says he's got it working on his phone, lets hear how he did it.

@Lucky18: would this work outside of the UK?

Hi guys.

If you want to use Yahoo! outside the UK, your outgoing and incoming address would be:

INCOMING: pop.mail.yahoo.com
OUTGOING: smtp.mai.yahoo.com

Another thing to note is that some providers, especially O2, provide wap settings that incorporate both MMS and GPRS in one (i.e. O2 Active services). This is not what you want, you only want GPRS services. Also ensure that the "Address" field of your internet account is filled with the appropriate address (go to "Control Panel" - "Internet accounts" - "Edit" - "Advanced").

@lucky18: I use a SE T610 and these are the options available on the menu, and the values I have input.

Connect using... My GPRS Account (Full wap and web access account)
Protocol... POP3
Incoming Server.. pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk
Incoming Port... 110
Mailbox... ?
Password... My mail address password
Outgoing Server... smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk
Outgoing Port... 587
E-mail address... My Id @yahoo.co.uk
Download... Headers and Text
Chech Interval... 3 hours

But it still does not work. How do I get my phone's email running with yahoo?

To Ambyzown:

I'm very happy that you've got access to email on your phone now. I know lots of people were encountering problems with in-built email clients for SE phones for quite a while, including me. As soon as I fixed the problem, I thought I would spread the word.

It's a privilege to help you guys out.

Yahoo does not charge a premium for the service. I know some other email providers do, but yahoo doesn't. You are only charged for the GPRS account you are using with your network - plus Yahoo would advise of the premium charges before hand, which they actually don't (on Yahoo! UK that is). I hope this clarifies a few things.

Ok, I've had a look at the Yahoo! Uk email page and this is what it suggests:

If you're a Yahoo! Delivers member (if you selected the option saying you wanted emails with special offers, you're automatically a member of them), POP access is free.

It seems weird, so I'm holding off my email downloads till my next bill arrives.

@Lucky18: I have noticed that my outgoing mails (Outbox) do not get sent when I send/receive, could I have done something wrongly? My inbox works well.
