I tried to update my firmware (R1L002) yesterday through the Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS). All the drivers & software needed prior to update were properly installed (as presented in the K750/W800 Firmware Overview posted by mwarner) like:

1. USB Driver for K750
2. K750 Update Service USB Driver
3. Sony Ericsson Update Service Software
4. Sun’s Java Runtime Environment

But I observed that the downloading phase ranges from 3 to 25% of its entire process. Then it stops so I canceled it but after that the software (Sony Ericsson Update Service) hangs up. So I need to End the Task (kill the software) through Windows Task Manager (using ctrl+alt+del) then try the update again but unfortunately all tryouts failed.

After six (6) consecutive fails, I decided not to continue the update anymore. I checked my K750 and it is still working as if it was not affected by failed updates. So I did not perform a Master Reset on my phone (as being required by K750/W800 Firmware Overview posted by mwarner if there are consistent failed updates).

But only today, I found something wrong with my phone. The phone showed me a mail icon telling me that I have received a text message/s. When I unlocked the phone, the shortcut menu showed-up two (2) same messages from the same sender. So, I thought it was just sent twice. But when I opened the second message, the phone hung-ups for awhile, then I pressed the cancel key to exit from the shortcut menu. When I checked my inbox there was only one (1) message received.

I want to perform a Master Reset today, but I do not know how to backup my java applications/games already installed on my phone. Could anyone help me please how to completely backup my phone including java applications and games? Could anyone tell me please what is really the problem behind the consecutive failed updates on my firmware through the Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS)? I will be glad to receive any comments since this my first post and I am a neophyte.

I successfully recovered my Sony Ericsson phone (looks like I had a USB problem)

Good luck
