Last few hours of the auction, finishes tonight if anyone fancies the V500!

Am now just into 'profit'!

Well, it went for £36, plus postage on top of that! Nearly doubled my money!

Going well so far, in fact a little too well.... Still waiting for payment though at the mo!

Hmmm, not sure yet, will have to see what I can get for £40 or so, which includes the price of any parts too of course!

Though I can't do much until the buyer pays, which hopefully won't be too long!

Still waiting for payment for the V500, though the seller has contacted me, she is having trouble with Paypal and waiting for them to deposit those two random amounts in her bank account so she can verify her account.

I'll be continuing the experiment once I have payment (and possibly just after Xmas too as it's rathe close now!)

Right, I have finally had payment for the V500! So now have £40 to spend on my next mobile.

So, if anyone has a phone with something like a broken screen, broken mic, speaker etc., or a with a lock code on they don't know, I might well be interested!

Remember though I need to sell it at a profit, I'm not looking for a phone to use as such, I'm looking for one that I could sell, perhaps for £60 or more.

So far this is going well, I've turned a faulty T68i bought for £5.50 into £40, I hope my luck lasts!

It's taken a while to get this far, but Real Life has also gotten in the way, I'm sure if someone else was to try this it wouldn't take them as long as it is doing so far for me.

Maybe have a look for something like a K700 now?

Looks like a good candidate, though I suspect the display light not working could be either something simple or something way beyond my capabilities!

Thanks for the link, I've put it in my watch list, and noticed that it also ends on Xmas day!

lookinh at that link above, if you look at the seller's history, the only other thing he's bought is a k700 housing. That leaves three options:

1. He tried to change the housing, and messed up leaving the phone in the condition it is now. (Easy to fix i bet)

2. It was a really battered phone, so he got a housing to make look like new, but really the internals are actually messed up beyond repair...

3. Totally unrelated items... (doubtful!)

Just my 2 cents...

just to help you out with the k700i above, it can be 1 of few possible things
1.The screen ribbon as it looks like he/she also damaged the keypad.
2. didnt manage to put the ribbon in properly/fully resluting in non/partly functioning components.
3. it is possible an i.c next to the lcd ribbon connector is not working, reheating or replacing it will solve the problem.

for me number 1 and 3 are the worst as the ribbon/lcd and keypad would need replacing and 3 is kinda hard to do.
