@Sammy_boy.

I think you could do it because you know your onions and have to be a resourceful chap with all the hours you have spent on this site

People will still pay - £40 - £50 for a T610. You can buy a case and keyboard for less than £10.

I have done it by buying 2 T630's, one with a broken screen and one that had a faulty main board but decent screen. To buy the 2 cost me £25 together and sold the finished working unit for £60. This was a few months ago though and prices have dropped since. If you do it with several different units you can then sell the faulty units on again and make a few quid back again.

Going to be a challenge, but not getting my hopes up too high, but will be interesting to see what happens!

Still waiting for the T68i to be delivered, hopefully it will be here tomorrow. I'm hoping that the faulty mic is actually fully working, just needs it's connector prongs bending back into position. This has been the case I'd say 9 times out of 10, and doing this and giving the internals a good clean gets the phone back working fully!

And with no extra cost

Be careful when selling the phones as the taxman is keeping a close eye on ebay for people buying and selling to make a profit.

Thanks for the heads up, I sometimes wondered if the taxman would do things like that, especially as a lot of people either earn a living off Ebay or do a lot of trading!

Well, I've recieved the T68i today! It does indeed have a faulty mic, haven't had chance to take it apart yet though. Had a bit of a problem when the phone had a lock code, emailed the seller with no response so far, but have managed to reset the codes using my SyncStation and SEMCtool 2.2!

Right, I've had the T68i apart, and just as I thought, the prongs that the microphone uses to connect to the PCB had become flattened. Carefully pushing them back up again has fixed the problem with no extra cost to me, and was a five minute job!

I'm going to be listing the phone tonight after work on Ebay on my new Ebay account, I'll put a link to the listing here, and get it into my sig too hopefully.

I've put a charger with it, I had one spare so no extra charge there thankfully!

Great idea, and I think that although it will take some time - you should be able to accomplish this.

I bought my V3 for £185.00 in August and sold it in October for £182 (incl Postage costs). So it only really cost me £3-ish to use for 2 months.

Partly to do with the buyer saying they intended to type in £140 (instead of the £185.00 that they actually entered - how they got a typo between £140 and £185 i don't know!!).

GOOD LUCK - Let us know your progress.
