First charge for Motorola V3 - how long? |

Hi!
How long would you charge a Motorola V3 for, for it's first charge?
Shop said 10-12 hours, but phone says 'charged' and only 3 hours has passed.
I heard that such long charges were a waste of time with modern batteries...
I did do a search and I also RTFM-ed...

I am sure I saw a page somewhere that said such long charges were totally unnecessary...

this is what my manual says. it doesn't give any time but says there is no harm leaving it connected after charging is complete, which is pretty much what I guess we all know anyway

thanks very much for taking the time to post this.

just leave it on the charger for ca 4h, thats enough, no need 10-12h. u could drain the batt 2 or 3 times in the first times, then chsrge it whenever u just want to.

no worries!
although there is quite alot in it, you might like to scan through the "Motorola RAZR V3 discussion (was LF: )" which I started when I first got interested in the phone last year. Quite a few questions have been asked and answered there.
this thread on mobile-review might also be of some interest

In the days when I used the V3 full time I never had an issue with the battery and found it lasted perfectly long enough. Many weeks I didn't charge it from Monday morning to Friday night as I forgot my charger back in UK when I was working in Frankfurt.
I certainly don't worry about little icons telling me whether I'm down to my last 1/3rd or last 10th of battery power.
I've started using my V3 more lately and even a year after purchase I'm still very happy with it and can see the constant attraction this model gets, moreso lately with the pink ones

Thanks!!
and a big THANKS very much for those links, masseur!!
Very helpful !!
I am setting this up for the lady of the house!
She certainly dislikes the Motorola menu's but she has been used to the S-E menu's for years.
I can see anywhere that shows an email accoutn setup, just sms and mms! But that it is OK!
More reading to do!

click the messaging button, then the centre settings soft key, then scroll down to "Email Msg Setup"
edit: btw, you can only setup one email account in the V3
