Just unbranded my t-mobile UK p910i. Got a message about a communication error but killed off the processes in the instructions and all went through ok. Just got to wait for the restore to finish... Thanks for the guide.

How do you delete the branded software?
I have vodafone SMS alerts in my menu and want it out!

override it.

There is a sms tab in the options when you select the icons at the top of the screen. But you can get a far more Useful program that will manage sms's, missed calls apointments and tasks all from the same screen. Alowing the tabs at the top to be used for more sensible programs like sman!

the program is called SE desktop and is available here

http://fireegg.com/mobiles/p800-900-910/utilities.htm

I think your suposed to leave a donation for the software i've seen the link posted before and hope no-one minds it been posted again.

once debranded you should be able to uninstall all non sony programs with the uninstall program.

if you click the 4 dots in the top right and pull up your list of programs, go to applications and the options to uninstall programs are there.

Did you check that SEUS updates your phone OK before trying the hack?

That was the first thing I tried but the vodafone sms alerts app is part of the firmware and so cannot be uninstalled

Then you haven't flashed the phone to a debranded operating system, Try it again, and make sure you follow those instructions to the letter. They do work when you get it right.

Does anyone know how to remove the operator logo?

I have done a search for this, but all of the threads appear to be a couple of years old. As this thread proves, things have moved on.

Thanks

Hello folks.. I tried this and I must be doing something wrong. I made a folder and renamed it, renamed the SEMCU* files etc. Backed up. It downloaded (I thought great I rebooted and the damn orange sunrise was there and the 'orrible homepage. The phone still has cda162006/5 on it !!! The only bit that I may have misunderstood is ..

9. Edit the file and paste the firmware version i.e. cda=162005/1 and then press enter. The file must be exactly 14 bytes long (that's why the enter is needed).

Where does this file come from ??? Ive been on http://uiqzone.org/software/firmware_p910.php and seen the file I require.. but there isnt anything to download...

Please help me....

You clearly have problems understanding plain text.

Quote:

Where did you find anything in my faq about creating and renaming a folder?

Quote:
It downloaded

What downloaded? Did the flashing procedure actually happen? Or You just downloaded something.

You would have understood step 9 if You had read step 8. It states clearly "create a file named unbrander.conf". That's where it comes from.

Read the instructions carefully once (better make it twice) more and try again.

dr-dv

I have understood about the new file and naming it + editing with the CDAxxxx and confirming it was 14bytes. I have also uninstalled SEUS prog and reloaded new from the site (ver 1.18). I have tried automatic verification and recovery mode since.. and I can't get rid of the damn orange bits.....

Is anybody else having this problem too?? How did you overcome this ???
