Bought an S700. After a few months I was driven to distraction by the constant rebooting and BT problems.

Took it to a SE service centre (SESC). They flashed the f/w while I waited, and broke the phone. It had to be sent away.

3 weeks later, they called to say it had come back, broken.

3 weeks later, it came back, fixed.

I took it home, and it was just the same. So I took it back in, they reproduced the problem and sent it away.

3 weeks later they gave me a new phone, except this time they said "they all do that sir". No fix available. It was now only a couple of months till upgrade time, so I continued with my old Nokia.

2 months later I upgraded to a K750. All fine until...

After 27 days the keyboard failed. Took it into an O2 shop but they wouldn't touch it because I didn't have the reciept with me. The next day took it back into the O2 shop and they changed it. The replacement one kept locking up when trying to turn BT on and off. O2 blamed the sim card, so sold me a new one.

Next day, activated the sim. Didn't solve it, so went back to 02. They refused to swap the phone since it was now 29 days old.

Back to the SESC. Now waiting the 3 week period for the K750 to come back.

EDIT: 28/11 Got a call from the SESC to say the phone was fixed. Drove in, turned it on, tried BT, phone locked. The girls there know me quite well now and we all just smiled. They said that it would have to go back into the system and it will now be the New Year before I get a replacement.

All I want is a phone that works. Never had any problems with the 4 Nokias, 1 Motorola, 2 Panasonics and NEC prior to this. 8 trips back to the shop or SESC. 12 weeks without the "new" phones I have paid for.

Crap.

What can one say?

Just lotsa bad luck for you mate. I purchased a k600i about two weeks ago. And I've had it replaced for the 2nd time on the 20th (2 days ago), the damn phone wont play MP3's bigger then 15MB.

Now i've finally accepted it and made my peace with that fact.

Damn that sucks. I've had my k750i for a little over a month now, and I've only had one problem, which occured during upgrading to the new firmware (error in communication). Took it to my nearest SESC and they flashed it to the newest one.

Haven't experienced any other probs yet, apart from the bugs noted down in the Overview thread.

This is my first ever SE fone. I've always been a nokia fan, but have since never regret my decision of buying this phone.

Hope everything goes well for you.

It's the 8 return trips and 25% "no-phone" time that gets to me. It would be more convenient to have no phone!

As you can imagine, I won't take the risk with SE next upgrade, however much I like the SE design.

certainly sounds like you have had more than your fair share of faulty products. In 19 years of mobile phone ownership and who knows how many phones, I can say I have never had anywhere near the experience you have had but I do remember some of your previous posts about these problems.

the question is, what is your alternative? I'm sure the same bad experience can be had with any manufacturer

Sorry about the empty post.

@Apotts.

You are complaining about a problem that has been noted, reported, and repaired by SE over 6 months ago. How do I know this? I was the one who identified the problem and documented in complete detail in this forum. Do a search.

Second, the s700 did/does have some shielding issues that were/are causing them to still reboot. Obviously your SE service center is not up to the task.

So your rants against SE are misguided.

N82(YES), iPhone 3G, Shure es530, Nikon D300, more stuff. No more SE stuff, why am I still here?

I guess I'm lucky not to have experienced any major problems with SE phones.
Of course I have had experienced some problems, but I considered those are not a big deal.
The major problem I ever had was with Ericsson T28 (totally dead) but it had been replaced by the one.
With Nokia 6610 I had problem with the screen (sometimes blank) and the keypad (sometimes not responding) but I sold that for not so good price at that moment.
With SE, I considered I'm lucky.

Sappo, I was involved in the thread in April, do a search.

SE would never fix/replace my S700, so I just continued to use it. I was not compaining about that - I just waited until I could upgrade and ditched the phone. Just a shame that one month into the K750, I've changed it once and am now back in the situation of waiting for weeks for the service centre. With no phone.

I apologise. The reason I have had so many troubles, have paid money to fix it and still now have no phone is all my fault.

No, hold on a second, it's all Nokia's fault!
