Good day.

The purpose of this thread is simple : SONY ERICSSON MEETING THE DEMAND OF THEIR CUSTOMERS.

Please feel free to add your feature which you want or expect to be on the next K750 firmware.By having a lot of users posting their ideas, the Sony ERICSSON team who program the firmwares can cater your demand. I have read in many forums that Sony Ericsson Programmers surfs the threads and checks them to include them in their firmware. And there is also a good news guys. I have a friend who is working in the Sony Ericsson's office. He is in the Customer Services department. Every month he forwards a survey document to the Sony Ericsson Headquarters. He has done it in the past and the results very much matched the demands of the users. Unfortunately, new bugs were also introduced.

So here iam starting the thread and hope you people will also participate.

=====================
I want
* The flight mode to be enabled in the future K750 firmware
* The memory stick corruption bug to be fixed
* MP3 volume to be increased
* Camera quality to improve ( greater than 4.5 that is)
* Video bitrate to be increased
=====================

Cheers!

Will there actually be another firmware?

If there is, the only thing I wish for is increased mp3 volume

- Put back the functionality of the profiles (K700 works much better)
- Sms delivery report notification should dissapear after a few seconds
- Sms delivery report notification should have customizable sound
- Before the phone goes to sleep mode, the backlight flashes

better video bitrate

... ooh, and an option asking if we want time and date displayed or not would be good.. annoying when you have a good theme

these options will be very usefull if they will include it with the new firmware :

- Edit option (copy all, copy text, paste) while writing text like do they done with W550i & W900i .
- Customize ringtones in the calendar & tasks.
- Protect folder by password .

we don't ask for to much .

1- Flight Mode
2- Backlight adjustable duration (btw, all those provided profiles dont do much, and the backlight brightness has little affect on extending backlight) It switches over to clock or sleep mode too quickly.. and when chatting or web surfing the backlight shuts off on you way too soon....
3- Volume issues (MP3 volume too low, phone ear speaker is too low [i can hardly hear people even with max. ear volume; and YES! i cleaned out all the earwax i found in my ears!!! and NO, i dont wanna tweek the equalizer!! jj!)
4- Joystick response (down position is faulty and annoying)
5- When viewing txt msgs (full view or txt msg body), it would be nice to scroll down to the next msgs w/out having to go back one level (back to msgs list [i.e. inbox msgs])
5- Faster menu transitions
7- Allow deletion of those numerous 'Planet' icons
8- Allow to view contact's address, info, etc., w/out having to go to edit mode! (create a new option under 'More': view contact info)
9- Improve Video bitrate
10- Let the user have a choice when using the FM tuner (i dont want to carry those ear plugs everywhere i go in order to listen to radio.. I understand that those plugs act as an antenna; allow speaker output)
11- Allow font sizing
12- Fix memory stick bug introduced by the R1N0035 f/w !

That's good for now; thank you!.

edits: changed 'fix' to 'improve' on item#9, added end sentence to item#3,10.

PS: Those are customer feedbacks about their product and how to improve on an already great phone. No need for some of you to defend SE or K750i! no1 is jumping on SE's throats, or hating K750i; just requests (if possible 2 implement). If ur happy w/ the product, then good for u!!!.. asta.

What do you guys mean the MP3 volume is too low? If anything it's too loud, as it's even louder than my iPod. But here's a trick to increase Mp3 volume. Go into the equalizer, then raise all 4 of the sound bars to max under custom equalizer settings. Trust me,after than, you're ears will be hurting from volume!

A few comments/questions:

What are you on about videobitrate ??
It has allready been fixed in R1N035 - videobitrate is now up to 200kbit/s which is quite adequite for a 176x144 video resolution, it equals 600kbit/s on a 352x288 video resolution.
No need for higher videobitrate than that.
If anything should change with videorecording, it should be the codec used for video and for audio. This should rather be mpeg4/aac instead of H.263/AMR but thats not possible on the current hardware platform, thus this cannot be changed in firmware so youl just have to wait for next platform to come out.

Improved camera ??
Its allready the best 2mpixel mobilecam available, if thats not good enough, buy a digicam.

Choise of using the radio without the headset which acts as antanna ??
Now what choise would that be ? A radio needs antenna to function. You cannot have a choise of using it without antenna. Or do you mean playing through the phonespeaker instead (with the headsetantenna attached) ? If thats what you mean, then I can agree.

Mp3 Volume to low ??
If I turn my volume to the loudest, it will damage my ears. When I turn it to the loudest I can stand listening to, its still 2 notches from the loudest.
No, S//E should definately not increase volume on mp3 and thus be partly responsible for damaging the hearing of all those kids that cant get it high enough. It is allready well documented how much damage mp3 players are doing in that area. If you are hard of hearing and need it louder then invest in a different headset that are more efficient. Then its not S//E's fault if you damage your hearing.
I think its very responsible of S//E to keep it at a resonable level.

you dont understand... kids these days love LOUD music.. i think they try and turn it up so loud everyone else can hear it and think that they are cool listening to music.. hehe... sad!

I agree with you about the video bitrate, i was meaning what you said, with the recording. Its the only bad thing on the phone as camera is spot on.

Would love to have loudspeaker with the radio, would be good if they could introduce a smaller antenna if they put this option on the phone!

More camera quality?? What do you mean. The still cam is the best there is. The vid quality would be an area which could be improved on.

I bet he means more camera quality modes, as in more different compression options, most digicams have 3 quality modes (high medium and low).

My requests:

-Flight mode option (for mp3/radio and camera)
-more options for taking pictures (all of these could be under Advanced/Expert options or something):
a)Manual/Auto ISO selection
b)Manual shutter speed selection option
c)Manual focus option

-Calling Card dialing option (sadly dropped with the K700)
-Fix for MemStick corruption
-Fix for phone communication with PC (could be an SE driver issue)
-Quicker recovery back from "Emergency Calls Only" when network is available (Moto had a 'speed' setting which I believe was for how often the phone checks for network access)
-Custom Ringtones for SMS receipt (same caller ringtone)

That's about all that comes to mind

Yeah! certainly. The volume of the mp3 should be maximized. My friends like numb, can reduce the volume. Btw, I really appreciate numb writing for this post. He is really good at it.

Video quality is fine. Just want the flight mode and the media player from W800.

Laterz.

Its nice to have extra bits put into the firmware, however I would expect se to sort its bt implentation and the ms card problem as a priority.

1. pressing music button will start media player even if headset is not connected.

2. louder call volume

3. profiles listed like that of Sounds folder. a list of available profiles is shown, then click more for setting the profile or for additional options.
