Hi, this is a story regarding HandyMobilez. I purchased a P910i for £230 back in March. I then sold it to Alec. He then sold it to mutleyboy and then to Merc_Man. It has now came back to me as being blacklisted.

I contacted Handy and told him and he said to send him the imei to check it was blacklisted. I did this accordingly. He came back to me saying it was not blacklisted, so i checked for myself and contacted orange. Orange personally said it was blacklisted, something fishy you might think???

Since the contacting on Handy, he will not seak to me on messenger and he will not seak to Alec either. What course of action do you think i should take???

Not really sure on this but....what was the timescale between you originally getting the phone and it coming back to you after the others having it. I have dealt with orange on uk blocked phones (after a dodgy ebay purchase) and its usually done within a week of the original stolen/lost report being made. The customer services rep i spoke too explained that people very rarely report a phone as lost even if it has been as its less embarrasing to say its been stolen outright, either way the block proccess is the same from what i can gather the blocking of the imie number accross networks can take a few days to carry out. Sounds like the block was "pending" when the phone was purchased either that or the imie number has been changed/hacked from another handset

If i were you i would ring orange about it and try to find out when/why the block has come about, sounds a bit strange that its taken so long, you might be lucky and its been wrongly blocked because the wrong imie was quoted????

Maybe, but why would handy lie about it?

When i told him the prob, he didnt want to know, the only thing that got him going was i said i knew where he lived. Then he contacted me.......

So we are talking about a minimum of 5 months between you selling it and the phone getting blacklisted?
As someone else here said, Orange will block a phone within a few days of it being reported lost or stolen so anyone after you could (I did say COULD) have done it.

If you bought it in March I think it is a bit unfair to go after the original seller after all this time and amount of hands it has gone through, at the same time i really don't think you should be held responsible either though.

Difficult one that is.

Check the IMEI number on the box, back of the phone and actually from the phone and see if they all tally.

i very much doubt it will be handy who has blacklisted the phone if it has only just shown up blacklisted a number of months after.

Precisely Lamont. Its not exactly fair its came back to me, its been down a line of people. I dont have the phone, Alec still has it, and he is trying to contact handy directly. Handy will not reply to any message when he is online??!?!?!

so why you trying to contact handy, its obviously nothing to do with him, you need to contact the other people the phone has passed through.

As far as I am concerned, I have been sold a stolen phone without knowledge, and thus I wan't my money back. This should go back as far as the phone was bought, and it is the responsibility of each person to contact the person they bought it off for a refund.

So I will be pressing Handy to refund Alton, to refund me, as it's clearly the correct thing.

Otherwise the Police will be involved.

The phone has been through 4 other people since the original sale and it has been 7 months since HandyMobilez sold it. You think it is fair to him as well if he had nothing to do with it being blacklisted?

No, it's not at all fair, but it is then his problem to trace where he got it from and get the refund from them if it wasn't him who blacklisted it (which I'm not suggesting it is).

I understand that but what if the phone was blocked by someone in the line after he sold it .. as I said, it has been 7 months and 4 different people.
I can see why you are angry but it could have been anyone (before, during or after)
Here comes the disclaimer : Im not saying it WAS anyone after he sold it but it could have been.

If you had been the original seller and it came back to you after 7 months and 4 buyers I don't think you would put your hand in your pocket just like that .. would you?
