So me and a mate were bored yesterday and as we didn't goto any movies on friday.... DOOM has just come out here, so we decided to go see it. (Also being gamers as well, it was a logical choice.)

I won't post spoilers about the movie itself, but i have to say, I bloody enjoyed it. There were so many laughs in it, and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Good to see some of the core doom elements were there too.

Makes you wonder if there's hope for the HALO movie

Yeah Doom was good. I was trying not to laugh through the film but some bits are just plain silly. The FPS perspective had the audience in stitches, even though it was ment to be serious. If you dont take the film too seriously, you'll enjoy it.

Wow, they've finally gotten round to making a film version of Doom? I'll have to go and see that, even if just for comedy value!

I was disappointed with the fact that there were no flaming skulls or beasts from the depths of hell, just ugly xenomorphed monsters - aka Aliens. Oh, and where was the straifing in the FPS perspective? Pah! Lots of missing 'Doom' elements i'm afraid.

So it's not as bad as the usual game -> film attempts then? Cool.

what i want to know is does it stick with the original doom and doom II:

Can the actors only move using directional cursor,s i.e no mouse

the actors are unable to shoot up or down

the actors can not jump

a dead body has only one side, and moves when u go around it

each scene has a loading screen

filmed in 16 bit colour

pixel blood
