As topic... cosidering this ENORMOUS bug; are you gonna stay with the update and use a card reader to transfer files, or just gonna go to some SE center and rollback your firmware?
Need to know so I'll know what I'll do!

Hi!
As i understand, you canīt roll back your firmware. Iīve asked the support centre and they told me you canīt "go back" I wish one could since the sound in lower sound level hisses and scratches when you play the mp3 player. At least i can hear it clearly when listening to soft songs. Any one have that experience too??? Iīve got the tip that it has to do with the fact that the new firmware have increased/cranked up the sound level from the mps playerīs amplifier. I dont think this a hardware/software fault on just my phone alone.
In conclusion to this i really would like to go back to the first firmware!

Are you sure? Have you tried listening to a soft song with volume at ist lovest level? Then you should be able to hear some hissing and scratches. Ok maybe only in the quieter passages of the song but still! Iīm not looking for faults or anything but this is really annoing if you want to listen to music in a low level. |

| I tried listening to a song at the lowest volume. All of my m4a/mp4 audio files where fine. (although hard to hear.)
I only have 1 mp3 on my phone. On that track, there was some slight noise. Sounds like a poorly encoded mp3. It's too low for me though. Once i increase the volume, it was fine.
My music is all encoded with mpeg-4 (Not converted from mp3)
Here is a mpeg-4 file to test. See how it sounds with the volume the way you like it.

Oh, and be warned. It's a stupid song. Only song i could most likely post without being yelled at. hehe |

Ok. That was a funny song! Hehe. But that wansīt a soft song with quieter/softer passages in the song. Itīs in the soft songs you (i)can hear the hissing sound. For instance the beginning of Ahaīs song- Hunting high and low(and i have converted both 96 and 128K-bit with Itunes and it still sounds bad) Maybe iīm too picky but i didnīt have that problem before i upgraded the firmware. And i have compared with the mp3 player on my K700i and it sounds just fine- no hissnig and scratching. I dont think that something i broken on my phone or anything. I use mp4 (aac)by the way. What program/tool do you use and what are your settings?
Thanks M.R |

| I use allofmp3. Download the song as an m4a. (aac) and i use 192kbps for normal songs and 320kbps occasionally for others. (i know it's overkill.. hehe)
It lets me choose which format i want to encode it to.
(mp3, wma, ogg, mpeg-4, mpc, and occasionally Lossless
If needed, i can get an aac file for you to test with. (one you know has the issue.)
You can pvt if needed. |
