I just noticed in the paper today that o2 have altered there online 200 deal from this:

300 minutes and 50 text messages (if you select the extra minutes).

To this:

400 minutes and 150 text messages (if you select extra minutes).

I have just ordered and received a phone for my girlfriend and O2 didn't have the decency to upgarde her to the new tarif so I will phone them and threaten to send the phone back unless they upgrade it (I can do this as she has had it less than 7 days).

But I have had my phone for a few months now , so I don't think I can do anything, which in all honesty really is annoying.

Hi. You seem to have some experience with o2. Can you tell me how far they go to brand their phones? Is there ant o2 logo etc on the outside (like Voda/Orange)? What about the inside of the phone?

I am thinking of buying one from them for use in Jamaica but I don't want any branding @ all.

Lastly...how easy would it be to get the o2 unlocked?

well my o2 phone didn't have any branding on the outside, the only branding was a start up screen and shut down screen. Also o2 don't lock there phones so its sim free too [addsig]

Same here the only branding is on the start up and shut down, which can be changed through the menus. Plus there is a small 02-UK on the middle of the desktop (which can only be removed with special software).

A couple of shortcuts to O2 Active on the menu was all my phone had too and these were erased when I updated the fw.

No external branding though.

Can a firmware upgrade get rid of this o2-UK icon in the middle of the desktop? So good, I can change/delete the start up and shut down.

Not sure about a firmware update removing the O2 - UK writing.

Actually I have just tried removing the o2 startup and close down animation. I could remove the startup but not the close down.

I think the best way to get rid of these is to use some software called Davinci. Mre info can be found here:
