Hello to all .
My name is Kiriakos i am a 36 years old Greek , IT pro-Electronics Engineer .
I just got the phone , i have explore it at 90% .
Its damn fast , sending - receving MMS .
Good sound quality , not a blasting volume speaker ,but good for medium noizee enviroments.
Its a new product , and i like to found and talk with other V600i owners so to share impresions and tips . (How to find firmware Ver etc etc)
If you have one , or even a K600 write few words about your findings .

I visited this forum with the phone ,with 3G & WAP 2.0 browser.
Right now i am testing the stability of several versions of Sony Ericsson PC Suite .
I found that the data speed of the phone is 20KB/sec .
I manage to get this speed with the Bluetooth & USB cable & Sync desk base .
The FMA software when is working with the Sync desk base DSS20, You need to change the setting of the max file size per second at the com port settings (At the FMA software) from 1.024 to 4.046 .
After that, the phone connection becomes Turbo

I got one on a new contract but its still in the box as im still using my p910i.
i dont know wheather i should change over and whether its worth it.
What other plus points have you discovered with this phone?
Like batt life and talk time length...
Cam quality. I like the fact that you can have mp3 ringtones!

the battery is quite good, unless you spend alot of time on 3G.
the phone atleast my K600 feels superb in my hands.
i think its designd by the same person who did the T610. great job!

Well about Batt life i can not tell yet .
My first charge lasted about 2.5 days , but i was playing with it all the time .
About the camera ..
I am a hobbyist photographer for the last 4 years, i own one Olympus C2100 , mega sized monster at 2.1MP .
I did some tests with the V600i ,and here is my findings.
The V600i has a preseted focus range of 1.5 meters to 6 meters .
Everything inside that range is IN FOCUS .
It has a "Depth of field" as 70 meters .
That is wery amazing for a camera on a mobile phone .
The colors is almost perfect , the saturation level is just a bit lower than my Olympus , that it behaves at Top levels, in image quality and colors .
The flash light its not powerfull and produces a yellowesh light .
If the temprature of the light was cooler (blue-white) and not that warm ( yellowesh White) it would be better .
The white ballance works very well .
For good pictures you need direct bright daylight.
Averige quality after sundown with daylight.
For Indoor use , the quality gets averige ,as your only enemy is the digital noise .
If you have powerfull internal lighting , there is no problem .
At 640x480 you have the ability for 4 shots in the row , the results was very well 
In general i did liked the results that i got , if my Semi Pro Olympus gets a 10+ in all , this litle devil gets a 6.
Even if it has a fixed focus point .
Another tip is to forget the closeUps , as i all ready sayed , the fixed focus does help you , if you get closer to the camera , more than 1.5 meter .
In a german review, i have read that there is a Macro function !! Well i did not, find it , yet
About the digital noise issue, the good part is that in low light , you can see it on your view finder, so you know when it is there .
I had a strong suprize when i started playing with the Radio function , superb sound quality , AF filter !! , superb stereo sound separetion over 75db ( Like high- End Radio receivers ) .
RDS , totaly compatible with EU standarts, nice fonts and size .
Lastly i got amazed about the quality of the fonts in the WAP 2.0 browser , the screen could show 20 lines or so , of text at a very tiny size , but still totaly clear and readable !!
Well the bottom line is that my money did not got wasted , the device is superb .
I do not mind about the medium sound level of the back speaker, all the rest in the phone is a 10+ , if you think what other stuff is avaliable on the market .
I payed 163 Euros , with 120 minutes per month contract( 22 Euros) ,8.5 Euros for a plastic basic belt case, and 33 Euros for the DSS-20 Sync base.
This phone belong to the class of Nokia 6630 and up .
The V600I conected with the Nokia , with bluetooth , it was like speed race , the KB counter was runing as crazy .
A Moto ( do not remeber the model) needed to send me a 54k MMS ,
1 minute + 20 sec , i needed to receive it ONLY 8 Sec !!
The upsolute higher speed in data tranfer was the 40-53.4KB/S
Yes i am starting to believe it , this is a mobile DSL line

And a software Tip .. This software works best so far with my phone , but i am still in need for the SE suite , as it does a good work for sync with the outlook.

Yes its a good looking litle devil
I am still testing software like file-explorer's, and trying to find the max KB/s at any type of conection .
So far my findings are :
DSS 20 base - Type of conection USB emulated COM modem
At 115000 baud rate - 1024 10KB/Sec
At 115000 baud rate - 4064 20KB/Sec
BlueTooth - Phone to phone transfer (V600i + Nokia 6330)
20-40 KB/Sec .
USB cable - emulated COM modem - At 960400 baud rate - 4064 80-90 KB/Sec .
IRDA not yet tested.
So far so good , the only nag is that you have to find the right software that supports the same high speeds that the phone supports too .
Software testing :
The FMA works well , but not phone catalog sync with outlook, is possible yet .
The author promised support at ver 2.3 , current ver 2.2 Beta.
But still with it i can archive the highest data transfer speeds.
Another software from Germany called Myexplorer , works well too , but there is no option for phone catalog sync,
Plus it does not support well the Greek Fonts .
So the SMS viewer is not usable yet .
I emailed to the author about the issue .
Its more stable as software than FMA , but it does not support many options about the COM Port settings , so the data tranfer speed is averige with it .
The SE suite , works well only in the Outlook sync part.
The other, file tranfer ( Memory card - Files explorer) , works very unstable in my system .
Win2k Pro SP4 . (ASUS P4C800-E _ P4 2.8C _ 1GB OCZ Rev2)

I have in my hands a papper from Vodafone New Zealand network.
They say as Compatible V600i firmware , the Ver R2K005 CDA R9A .
Well thats more new than my , i visited a SE service center today , there is no update for the Greek localized ver of my phone .
Well i gues this is the only negative fate of all the localized branded phone , slow firmware updates !!
Any way my device works totaly well , with out any practical software based issues .

Good news for all the V600i owners & K750
I did beta test to the latest unreleased copy of (MyPhoneExplorer), the author is from Germany .
The program works well in all the basic functions, still needs some minor fixes .
I can not say more .
Soon we will have a good working copy , and also Greek language support . |

My relation with the author, of the software, become closer , now we work almost in paraler .
I think that very soon the results of the German - Greek aliance will become visuable .
