I've come across a Thai website warning people of fake Sony memory sticks. The top pictures are 'real' sticks, and the bottom pictures are 'fake.' I'm worried since mine doesn't look like the real! and i bought my card NOT from Sony!!

Take a look. What do you think?

I'm currently using the 1GB one for PSP.

It works, but its long term usage I still doubt:(

Here are some pics of my card taken with my k750i (poorly taken especially macro work;))

Can anyone spot any 'fake' indications? Thanks.

P.S. - The first pic shows a sticker with letters LW and some in Chinese??? Gave me the impression that it was made in China!

Does it say anything on the back underneath the 'LW' sticker?

P.S Mine was made in Japan.

Does it say anything else like the model number or any other strange collection of numbers and letters.

Mine says the model number which is: MSX-M512S and few other numbers along with 'Complies with Canada'.

i think the package of 128 is not similiar with the package of 1gb,and your package is from a pro duo and not duo,so i think you don't have to worry,.But if they can fake a duo i think it's possible to fake a pro duo,but it seems to be safe for now.

sorry my english ^^

yours is most definately a fake, I can see it very clearly.

But dont worry to much about it, usually the fake ones last atleast a month before they start mailfunctioning....

I am not sure if yours if fake or not...but I did buy one similar to yours and had a damn mission to fit it into my Z800i needed a little bit of a nudge to be honest I think it was fake..

With regards to long life I cant be to bothered to be honest as I am now moving to buying stuff with HDD inside to avoid all this nonsense that comes with memory sticks etc.

SEman, I'd be more worried about the very poor quality of those photos than whether the memory stick is fake or not
