Please use the search facility as it has been discussed hundreds of times.
The P910i supports Memory stick Duo Pro which is designed to go upto 4GB. At the minute only 2Gb cards are available.

I said masseur could proove it. Not me. I think this stands on some memory stick webpage. But I hope/think there will be some new technology before we reach that limit....

Ok guyz, understand this - The P910 supports FAT16, and not FAT32. As u all know, the limit of FAT16 is 2GB, so thats - 2GB is P910s limit. U oughta have known this by now.

regards

I did used to think that P910 supported FAT32 but in fact I was wrong as I found out recently.

you need only read the latest white paper for the P910 dated November 2004 which says...

Of course, back last November when this was written, there were no 2gb cards so it only mentions that the P910 supports 1gb in the initial statement but it then goes on to describe that the maximum for FAT16 is 2gb and now that such cards are available we know that the P910 definitly supports that

memory stick duo pro media has a theoretical upper limit of 32GB.

4GB is the next planned step in ms duo sizes, but cards up to 32GB will come out in due course...

but poor old 910 will only ever be able to read 2GB (or maybe 4GB in a card with 2 banks of switchable memory)

I would very much doubt we'll ever see switchable PRO duo cards like we saw in the 2x128mb duo cards

when the 4gb cards become available we can only hope that SE see some sense and provide a firmware update that supports FAT32

I agree about the switchable memory, it's not very likely. I'm thinking the 256MB switchable's only came out to keep the p900 useful long enough for the P910's to come out (since P900 shares the tiny 128MB limit of the P800), whereas the P series seems to be at the end of it's life cycle now. Even if a P1000 comes out, it will be a completely different phone.

For P910 owners, I sincerely hope SE bring out a firmware solution to the 2GB limit. For myself I'll probably use the K750 until SE firm up on their new smartphones...
