I've just phoned the Oarnage shop near me (Manchester) and they say they are due delivery today so i guess we'll find out then
But also i was just thinking, if you look on the Orange sitetheir pic of the w800 is just the standard orange/white colour so maybe it will be no diff after all |

thats what I understood too but I got a vodafone one this morning and although its not sim locked and does accept any MP3 as ringtone it still has 5 locked and non changeable data accounts, and 3 wap profiles which are locked and non changeable, and the internet icon takes you to vodafone live
I'm now deciding whether to take it back or wait for the unbranded firmware on davinci etc

if you take it back would you get another one? and how would you manage to get one unbranded? |

I'd probably go to carphone warehouse for the upgrade as they tend to give unbranded ones, especially if I ask.
The alternative is to wait until the online firmware services (davinci etc) have the unbranded firmware available as its an easy task to do it that way
sorry, I have no idea what the orange branding is though

yeah, i think so. because all they do is give you the phone and then the sim... i did that with a couple of previous phones. but i want the orange student package which means i have to go to an orange shop |

CPW give unbranded handsets on O2 and Vodafone. Orange phones from CPW are usually branded and locked. |

I wouldn't go by what the reps say; I spoke to one earlier in the week who said it would be available today. I called OCS this morning and the guy I spoke to said it would be released some time in August! The Orange store round the corner said they would be getting some in around now. Go figure. |
