You can get the K750i on Virgin for £239.99 + you get £20 worth of top ups and they will unlock it for free, thus keeping your warranty.

Once you get the phone from http://www.virginmobile.com/mobile/ call them up and ask them to unlock your phone. Give them a few details and they will unlock it for you free.

Having looked around for the cheapest way to aquire an unlocked, unbranded K750i, I've placed an order with e2save.com today (part of Carphone Warehouse).

Phone free, 5 months at £4.99 per month, 1 month at £30.99, then 6 months at £16 (O2 allow you to reduce to lowest tarriff after 6 months and I've confirmed that this does not effect the cashback offer, which is paid in 3 installments at 4, 8 and 12 months). Therefore total cost of phone over 12 months = £151.94, plus my daughter can make use of the 200 cross network minutes and 100 texts per month (bargain?).

Sounds like a long winded way of doing things though. Got to send some of your bills to them within 28days or else you lose the cashback.
I would much prefer to spend a little more and not get the hassle of all that.

I'm not sure if unlocking will resolve it, but Virgin have now blocked the update service via the SE website. It worked when I got my phone but now it says the provider doesnt allow it.

roblightbody,

Do you reckon this mean that the only way to update the firmware on a unlocked Virgin contract phon is to go to a SE repair centre?

Many Thanks,

So does that mean you got one from Virgin already?
