considering togari will have a 6.44" screen vs note2's 5.5" screen, the size difference isn't that bad. the bezel on the sides should be fairly thin. the top and bottom may be a bit large, but i think sony's logic is you'll have somewhere to hold it when using it in landscape mode. this should be important if it's correct that they want to focus on entertainment with togari..

well.. people have been using nexus 7 as a "phone" so the Z Ultra will be tiny for them

Xperia ? = Honami = C680X
Honami is actually C690X as confirmed with my source. He had no model number listed for togari and did not have C670x or C680x listed either.
That can't be right. C690X is Xperia Tablet Z's model number.
Tablet Z is SGP311/SGP312/SGP321
As far as the Google Edition Z my contact reached out to his Sony Mobile group and was told it would be a surprise to them. They might be trying to keep it secret as best as possible like the honami. We shall see.

Well some rumours regarding the S4 and HTC did exist, nothing for 100%. But then both launched. Again I mentioned this in a post after the HTC goggle ed launched. Some publication or website posted about various nexus devices from the manufacturers, around 4-5 devices. I was excited, since that would mean Sony might be making one. But it seems or at least this is my feeling, that the manufacturers were not too keen on such an idea or there was just no interest. So instead another idea might have been brought up by Google, take the flagship devices and just add stock android and sell them on the play store and possibly only in the US (no idea if these google editions will be sold outside of the US). So if they were meant to be only sold in the US, then perhaps Sony with not the largest presence in the US wasn't interested, or Sony is developing a google edition and just waiting to see how the other google editions will sell...or the final option, Sony technically already has a google edition with the AOSP Z and there is no need for a google edition.
Just my 2 cents. |

Is it confirmed that Togari get only a 3000mAh battery?
If yes, this is the only negative point for me.

One thing i appreciate about samsung galaxy note 2 is that when you browse the internet, it uses the whole screen estate.
On iphone, safari has a full screen mode, with the strict minimum in term of buttons to navigate, that maximises the estate available for browsing.
I wish Sony had the good idea to do it for Xperia Z but I was disapointed. Even if you get a 5 or 6.44 screen, you want to browse full screen, exactly like you want to watch video full screen.
What i would like is a way to be full screen but not on the stock browser only. I would like to use firefox for android for the do not track me and add block features, and be able somehow to browse full screen. Without hardware button, it could be via a ubuntu/blackberry-like side bar interface.
Sony お願いします |

そうですか, a little bit strange because firefox in full screen still shows the android soft button bar when i tested it on xz.
I remember having spent some time at the docomo shop shortly after the launch of xz.
There was a Sony engineer and we spent much time on the devices, the shop one and his.
We installed firefox and add block on one, and firefox only on the second one to compare load times
He was very nice and interested in client feedback. Strangely at that time his questions were arround photo and how important it was for me as a user. You can imagine he had at least one feedback that clients wanted a photo phone badly.
On the (ugly) android soft button bar, he did not find a way to hide it, and felt the pain when i just put the galaxy note in landscape mode to illustrate what i mean.
Hope Sony took that into account and did some 宿題

I think Sony can be clever with the software for example, the e-mail on the current Xperia range with the split screen in landscape mode is very useful. Samsung Note adds lots of nice features to their Note like taking notes...obviously, but a little bit of creativity would be good for Togari. It would be really cool if it had a Windows Surface like keyboard/cover attachment like they have for the Tablet Z possibly with an extended battery but I don't know how good it would be for that screen size. Maybe some smaller phones with an optional sliding keyboard attachment would be cool. Sorry, I'm really in love with the new Duo 13 and it's design. |

Holy cow, news about Togari spreaded out so fast!
I like how everywhere says it's called ZU because I said so, when it's real name is Z Ultra Sony's going to be so confused if they do decide to have a handset called ZU... |

@Shotokan81 and @badassman: Be careful to say anything positive about Samsung on this forum, you might be labelled as Samsung fanboys! The mantra here is "Samsung's only copying". |
