I've always fancied the idea of "mini" HX Bravia TV design for Xperia.
Totally flat on the front, slightly trapezoidal back. Just monolithic.
Drool more if they also made the aluminum speaker/media stand as well, just like the optional HX accessory.
Randomuser, you said 'maybe' the flagships will have glass front and back.
Please tell me that is a soon to-be reality !!? |

@randomuser,
Welcome dude
Done already
More and More I feel I should skip XT directly to Q1/Q2 flaggy
The local dealer already doesn't know when it will have the XT so I feel it will be too late already and time gap between XT and Q1/Q2 is closer...

Just a quick PS job on how a monolithic Xperia might look like. It's meant to resemble the Odin/Yuga

Does this mean that Dogo was being developed by Sony before the buy out?

What makes you say that |

Because the buy out was only completed earlier this year. Surely it takes longer than that to develop handsets such as Dogo and others launching early 2013?

That was the legal completion. Sony took charge around October last year. So October 2011 - January 2013 is enough time to develop a handset. Of course it can take longer but it can also be done in a short period of time. Samsung for example takes less than a year to develop Flagship handsets. |

One of the agreements of the joint venture was that they should be allowed to individually develop their own branded handsets should they wish to. So it's possible that Sony began developing these handsets while still joined with

While that may be possible, I doubt it.
Though, RickyD did mention he heard from someone that SONY was working on a 20mp handset independently last year, so maybe that could be the case.

But Samsung likes to crap phones/tablets as fast as they can. Remember when the Galaxy Tab was redesigned in 1 month as a reaction to the iPad 2 reveal? |

On topic though, I'm not sure if I want Sony smartphones to have such sharp corners (could be uncomfortable in the pocket). The current Xperias also have a monolithic look, but with minimized rounded corners. They should try to develop different design features without having to go to their Bravia TV design language. The Xperia Tablet or the VAIOs should be looked at before the Bravia HDTVs in my opinion. |
