They have clearly said that they will not produce any Android phones. They have their own Linux OS ( Maemo/Meego ) and the stupid Symbian OS, so we don't need to worry about their degradation.
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand... Mediar's Site |

Elm user, want to switch to X10 mini or X8,
don't know what to get leaning more towards X8 as its got a bigger screen

Is it really only in white or those white-other colours gradient?
It seems like it is what I want, but serious, a white phone... only an iPhone can get away with that.
The HTC Adria might be an alternative design/size wise, but it does not seem to be available in Europe. |

Is it just me or is this thread a tad too quiet? It's already sept and the x8 is going to be out soon but there are hardly any previews etc out there.
Personally I love the x8..it looks gud and has the reqd specs befitting a mid range smartphone. Except the camera, which is a bit of a disappointment. In India, the device is slated to be priced between the x10 mini and mini pro, which is decent but they could have managed to add a 5mp cam module at that price in order to be more competitive.
Am going to go and get it anyway. If only we get a 2.1 upgrade asap and a roadmap for an upgrade to 2.2, the interest in this device will sustain.

I'm not sure why the thread is quiet. To me it seems the most things that could be discussed in the X8 have already been discussed in the X10 thread, i.e, the OS and interface.
I think the price will be the best thing about this phone.

I think its time for  to go ballz-out ... dangling, rubbed with a boner ... pure RAW!
Step 1. use 1 design ONLY for the elite, capacitive touchscreen.
Step 2. Implement Samsung's new Cortex A9 Dual-core 1Ghz/core cpu that will go in mass-production 1st half of 2011.
Step 3. Make it Quad-band HSPA & LTE 2 bands.
Step 4. Use a LARGE sensor for an 8-10MP camera with Xenon & LED. Optimizing battery power for LED until very low lumens for Xenon ONLY: 2nd firmware to allow end user selection.
Step 5. Bring out serious Mobile Entertainment - Music, Movies, Mosiac interaction or social if you will: Sony Entertainment full out for worldwide accessibility and distribution. Apple RULES here because they don't limit per 1 region (TV Shows is lacking though at least in Canada).
Step 6. Marketing. Without the foundation of great hardware, great software revision, great abilities and services (not just for the youth but also for the business users too - not all are corporate).
we have to look beyond just the GUI ... but also the performance, the usefulness of it, not just the integration but how it benefits all potential and current users in day to day use. THIS is something that Apple did, like it or not - crucify or vilify them, they DID take the industry by surprise.
