Finally: The R1K firmware for EU1 is now available on the official Sony Ericsson Server. This server has the only original Sony Ericsson software versions.
Remember, if you update your Z1010 yourself with Totalserver or other programs, you will lose your warranty and the software you get is not the official released and final version.

Is it possible to update 3 branded phones to newer firmware versions? Or you have to debrand it first? I ask so, as I would like not to lose my guarantee |

Maybe you should visit a SE service shop. They know the answer. As far as I know it is possible to unlock the Z1010 official by SE shops. Shouldn't be a problem.
R1K is a great software, but the mobile breaks down if you choose "streaming options" in the "connections" menu.

Where do you find the "official Sony Ericsson Server"? I've been trying to update my Z1010 with their "update service" for a about a month now. It's still not working.

I use R1K010 but have huge problems with GSM-UMTS handover 
... and no streaming either.
Can´t notice any difference to R1H015

I can't understand why it isn't possible to manually lock out 3g. I mean if you're in an area when the phone switches between the two networks, there is a big problem with beeing not reachable and the battery consumption is far greater. The phone (battery life) would last much more time if 2g could be manually picked and it wouldn't switch to 3g.
I only need 3g for Video Calls.
What difference does the new firmware bring???
I still have r1g007. Haven't come around yet to update it at a Service Point and I think that they still have r1h015. |

All UMTS phones have this automatic handover problem. But R1H has a better/faster handover without loosing the accessibility.

So what are the "Streaming options" for anyway?
I just read here on the forum that the R1K010 would crash if choosing that from the menu and when i tried it sure did crash, or rather reboot in the same way it used to do when connecting to a big wap page before my upgrade.
At least now i can play my downloaded Leisure Suit Larry game which caused the same kind of crash before my software upgrade.  Too bad the game sucks.

i flashed hk r1k using davinciteam and it has english/euro and chinese text
dont forget to check the main, fs and language before flashing.
any problem, pm me...
btw, i got some davinci credits left.

Is it true that you need a DSS-20 or 25 to update the firmware of your Z1010? Can't it just be done with the usb cable that came with the Z1010?

I can't check myself since my Z1010 is Orange branded and it says my operator doesn't allow the usage of this service.
