Not totally sure what you are all talking about with Java sockets and the like. But any thing to improve the T610 is welcome so I've signed as well. |

About mophun, is it possible to develop jabber client? Is there any good tutorial for mophun? |

Okay, this thread may be a little old but i have signed the petition as well, i think that decent Java implementation would take this phone from 'Good' to Absobloodylutely Amazing'! It really is a good phone though, will go down as a classic but java well icing on the cake. It hasn't been done yet has it.
Also, does anyone know where i can get a list of Registered SE Shops, so i can get my firmware updated? |

On the web page http://www.benhui.net/bluetooth/tutorial_wtk2_nokiaS60.html they talk about a file midpapi10.jar82.jar that can be used with MIDP 1.0 phones to add Bluetooth support.
Can the file midpapi10.jar82.jar be used to create Bluetooth applications for the Sony T610 or Sony T630 phones?

Finally wore out my T68i (clocked over 1,000,000 joystick moves) and upgraded to T610 (very disappointed with lower res on camera by the way.)
The whole sockets /Java issue is far more disappointing though.
I definitely want a direct connect MSN messenger client on the phone; Microsoft are forcing the WAP option down a cosy little path with the carriers.
Here in Australia eg. you have to register & then get slugged for an SMS cost for each MSN 'I-M' message (presently 25c + )
(downloaded both cMessenger & JustYak but the former I still can't get to run and the latter only has 20 free msgs b4 u have to pay
Besides don't like the idea of increased data overhead due to a "middleman" see wrath000's post at http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=36872&forum=17 )
I'd love to be able to remote control my T610 camera from my PC via Bluetooth!
Does the sockets/Java limitation as discussed in this thread mean that this is not possible?
I've used 'baracoda' to remote control my PC via BT - the reverse isn't possible some other way?
P.S. signed petition (no. 869)

Hi all,
I just managed to run the WLirc with some modifications on the code, even get a Socket connection alive, but never get the incomming data. Still have no idea why. I know its not supported in MIDP 1.0 but there was something like a 'hack' with the classes that enables you to get StreamConnection without an exception. I will continue experimenting but I am still new with MIDP. (used socket://)
But i still cant manage to make cMessenger to work. It always stays on Connecting... or it crashesh and reboots the phone. Any ideas what can i do?
Is there any source code snipets of the cMessenger?
Hote: I found that the IOExceptions are comming if you enter the host name as a dns name, not as IP.. tried some codes on my phone - T610 - Vodafone Branch, and with passed IP as host it works, but with the dns name not - gives an Exception. It is strange..
I got almost all Inet connection programs working ok (WebViewer...) but never get cMessenger to work. Can someone give some solutions
