this also, didnt Sammy got caught cheating in benchmark? They came out and replied like they were right to do so. I wouldn't trust anything from Sammy especially after owning a S3....

note 3 beating zu and z1 in benchmarks is to be expected considering it's clocked at 2.3ghz while zu/z1 are clocked at 2.2ghz. note 3 also has 3gigs of ram, which probably helps. in real world usage though, it means virtually nothing since the difference in score is minimal.

Will it have Wet Finger Tracking? The WhitePaper doesn't mention it. |

Well in real world usage Note 3 has 4K video recording. Don't know if that 100 Mhz is crucial for enabling that but it certainly helps. |

The media is so cruel.
Bloomberg, BBC, CNN and a few others have been talking about Samsung's Galaxy Note 3, Note 10.1 2014 and Galaxy Gear on and off throught this evening. Bloomberg especially has been all about Samsung since late tuesday night right up to now, just past mid nite, Thursday morning, as I type this they are playing an interview with Samsung's Product Marketing head who is talking about the new products, not a single thing about Sony's new products, just a mention of Sony's SW2 and how Sony are to "follow" Samsung into wearable smart accessories, ouch!
I was expecting to see a mention of Z1, yet, nothing, Sony better market the hell out of this Z1, as even before it and the Note 3 land, the Samsung has a huge lead on coverage along with the two new upcoming iPhones which also keep getting mentioned when Samsung is brought up, it's madness, come next week Tuesday all you will hear on tech blogs and EVEN on news channels and radio stations is iPhone this, Galaxy S ,Note and Gear that.
Part of me thinks Sony should've brought the Z1 in the 1st half, they would've had more space to make a buzz.

Still pictures and low light performance seems awesome, pictures in motion are bad.
Great find man!
Now let's dig up that 1080p@60 fps video recording ability!

Just dissapointed from Honami. I didn't expected anything. It was clear for me. But no matter. Everything is fine.
I go with Z Ultra and N3. The dimensions of the N3 are unbelievable! It's almost same big like Z1. Just +5 mm in length and widght. Clear winner of today with it's specs and size!
Z 5.0" : 139 x 71 x 7,9 mm
Z1 5.0" : 144 x 74 x 8,5 mm
Note III 5.7" : 151 x 79 x 8.3 mm
Note II 5.5" : 151 x 81 x 9.4 mm
Z1 again only with 16GB ROM and only 2GB RAM. Holyshit. I think I have a deja vu... And where are the stereo speakers???
SONY still don't use Gorilla-Glass... It's one of the biggest negative points ever! You can't enjoy touching with this stupid mineral glass + ugly foil. You must feel the experience of Gorilla-Glass. It's like magic touch. SONY when you wake up?
P.S It was the first time since years I've missed a SONY Live Press Conference Event, intentionally. Unfortunately I feel no adrenalin anymore...

It is in the white paper. 1080p video recording. 1080p is 60 fps and 1080i is 30 fps.

so confirmed 1080p 60fps? How come they didn't mention it like LG. Hope they will update it with 4K 30 fps support. |

I think the camera is the big compromise for the Z1 being bulky. Same can be say if ppl want a 20MP camera and water resistance from Note 3 which is doesn't have either one of those. And Gorilla Glass doesn't "feel" anything special to me. |

Well then, the surviving chance of the Z1 will be to provide foto shots clearly ahead of their competitors, because if not, what Sony sacrificed for the camera will not pay of.
As even now, design wise LG2, S4, Note 3 look better in terms of usability.
Expected more, im afraid to say, especially when it was said here, that Z1 will blow people´s mind by it´s design! No it doesn't at all... |
