@arunvc...
thanks for noticing that... i was forgetting about my former N95!
did you even read the post i had answerd to:
he said that the N95 has a VGA screen and i answered: No it has a QVGA screen... thats all.
then i explained the meaning of the screen resolution (do you want me to explain that again for you)
then i told him that there aren't many VGA screen phones available
and at last i told him that in terms of number of supported video formats the K850 have the upper hand (but not the quality)!!
did you get that? |

Really are you sure as from looking at PhoneArena.com that's not what it looks like to me. As instaed of WMV you get MPEG-4 and two newer Versions of RealVideo with 9 & 10 so unleess i can't count it does appear the N95 actaully does support more fromats after all. I think the most widely used and best quality and practical is H.264. which of course both do support.
But as you said quality wise well we all know which one wins there, as one has both a much faster processor and better graphics chip and either a 2.6" or 2.8" 16 million colour screen not forgetting 30fps VGA Playback and can be plugged straight into your TV or LCD/Plasma and played back @ 640x 480 VGA.
K850
3GPP (H.263, H.264), MP4, RealVideo 8, WMV formats supported
N95 8GB
MPEG-4 , H.264/AVC, H.263/3GPP, RealVideo 8/9/10 formats supported , Real Player

Well then i suggest you either change the light sensor to 100% or if it's already there take it to a service centre as obviously some thing is wrong with it. But then it's not a N series so it may not be as good as flagship products. Really it's $250 more has the K850's price dropped so much already? But then that's not really surprising considering one is just a Camera phone and the others a Multimedia smart phone and like everything in life you only get what you pay for.

You can just use "personal preference"?
Personal preferences cannot be debated. We are just looking at absolute here.
You yourself may be looking at absolute, but not everyone assesses phones on the basis of spec lists only. There are many more factors that determine what's good about a phone.
Maybe you can only tolerate speed of 90mph which your nissan (k850) can do as well as the ferrari (N82). But to say the nissan is as good as the ferrari because both can go at 90mph is just ridiculous and sounds more like self consolation to me.
When did I say the Nissan was "as good" as a Ferrari? Nevertheless, in some areas (namely ergonomics) it's streets ahead of a Ferrari. And since it still handles bloody well, the lesser performance can sometimes be a fair trade off for better ergonomics. Of course if we are talking a Nissan Cedric, I would never touch it. (Likewise you will never see me owning an SE J200 ) But a Nissan 200SX is a VERY nice car.
IF you believe in always having the fastest and best handling car, then you would take the Ferrari even if it has no cup holders But if you want ergonomics you go 200SX over the F50. Ergonomics may be a very personal thing, but it's still one of the main reasons (2nd to style) that the majority of people base their phone choice on (given that it can do what they need it to do).
There is no simple answer to which car (or phone) is better.
btw, a Nissan 200SX can do 220Kmh plus, substantially faster than 90MPH. Even my 1992 Peugeot 405 can do close to 190Kmh (120MPH).

yea...k850 prices hav skydropped fr the good
n95 has been there for more than a year now and thw initial bugs have been taken care of...its just a few days off from k850 gttin a new firmware..the big un tht is..and then we shall know where the true potential of the k850 lies..k850 has much greater music capabilities and a better design compared to the n95...a better cam but it can only be justified after a firmware update....
and yea..n95 has symbian,wifi and gps...and i m happy not to pay 250$ fr tht.... |

For who want smartphone or Symbian get N82 or N95.
I'm ready to pay for a phone over 500euro.. What I want is, nice design.. good battery easy to use fast UI. SE is the company can offer me that now..

So is the 240SX
AND the 350z
As is the k850...
But hey, in my opinion, this thread and all such comparisons should be locked...someone has an n95, he's happy with it...who are we to say the phone's not good? same goes for k850...if the owner is happy and satisfied, i think THAT phone is good...no debating...cuz that's what phones are for....for personal requirements, not for getting compliments on having a great phone from although everyone......although i must admit that almost all the women i know adore my luminous green k850i
But still, n95 owners=happy
k850 owners= happy
Stop flaming..end of story.
Peace.

While i can agree for some they may prefer the style of the K850 or even the camera as that really is a matter of personal preference. I can not agree that it has a better Music experience as it is much less powerful and has no DSP unlike the N95. Sorry but even the current Flagship Walkman phones can't compete sonically so i really fail to understand why or how you think the K850 is or will be better than a N95 original or 8GB and if you are talking of the visual experience i am more than happy with how the N95 Music player looks and it's options but all of that is secondary to how it sounds and when it comes to Music how it sounds is what really counts nothing else .

Very wise words and good advice $herry, but some people believe that they are infallable and every one elses opinion and experiances count for nothing, they only like hearing the sound of there own voice, debating with them is a complete and utter waste of your valuable time
