If SE give you java on top of making your t68 into an "i" for free (Relieving me of the need to buy a new phone for the longest period in my phone owning history) then they have completely lost all business sense, why can`t you just be happy that you have a classic all time piece of hardware & soon it will be time to move on, otherwise next it will be a 4096 colour screen ETC ETC.....i`m fukin thinking of writing to them saying my granny is poorly & i need a new Merc to go & visit the old cow, prefferably a convertible with heated seats.

@pachy i want SE to release new phones rather than upgrade the software because the SW upgrade (R5D) did not really fixed bugs or sumthin' it makes my phone hang and freeze all the time... why make SW upgrades if it comes with even more bugs??? just a waste of money!!!

Yes it`s like putting a new gearbox into a car that has a wornout engine.

Ok, correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the T68i already has java capability - at least MINE does. I worked for a large mobile software company (the one that is hated bye all the carriers) and after unlocking my phone I was able to put a test sim in it, which contained a java card application we were writing. This was the first time we ran it on a T68, and it worked fine. If you write a java card app, it'll appear in the shortcuts menu (and nowhere else that I was able to find).

You are wrong. Java apps installed on a Sim are not the same as a Java-enabeld phone. A Java-enabled phone can download and install new applications, games, etc on-the-fly, regardless of what Sim is in the phone.

im pretty happy with my T68i as it is (R6A), cant ask for anything more... it's processor is already taxed to its limits (just check out the speed). ill still keep this with me even after i get my p800 this march.

Instead of asking for java why don't you ask for something that it can be done like being able to asign a ringtone as a ringing signal when someone when a sms or mms arrives. Besides in order to play java apps the phone must have a fast procesor and since the menu is slow it means that it doesn't have a fast processor. The T300 has a 12MHz processor and it is still slow in the menu. Besides if you read the first post again it says that it has function like having effects on the MCA-25 the function that it is available on the latest firmware so this must have been the java menu.

well, they will never release t68i software with java. java is one of the good reasons for people to upgrade, so why should they?

they better do something about that low sounded sms alert. java is not giving me much. having bluetooth on my cellphone so i can use it with my ipaq is more than enough for me.

besides, any opportunity for t68m user to upgrade to t68i for free is consider as a generousity of SE. they can do much worse than that if they want. like nokia did to its customers..........

it's very very unlikely that we'll get java.
