Good to be here again  New highend SE announcements always interest me.
But there are many iterations of highend UIQ devices, right? Also one with a side slide-out QWERTY keyboard. So I guess a 2.8" VGA device will become available too, maybe at the end of 2008 or Q1 2009, but if this device is going to be released like this, 2.8" just doesn't seem to fit the picture. Looking at the aspect ratio's this device would become just too big. And it especially looks very small in the photos posted. I believe that there is a version with VGA and 2.8" screen, but the one of the already famous video doesn't seem to be that one.

The pic suggests that the phone camera works when the slide is closed right? So wouldn't it be better if the slide were to cover the lens which may have made the phone thinner? I'm no expert but many Samsungs are like that and very thin. Does it have an effect on the thickness? Can't tell what size the screen will be but there seems to be a lot of wasted space. Must have some LG Choc style hidden keys. Considering that I had the Pxxx phones, the size seems amazing. |

Once Paris is announced, I am sure it will be compared to N96 a lot... Almost the same phone/screen size, features, slider, camera MP, etc.... It would be a close battle between the two and paris might win only because of the touchscreen, keyboard and resolution (if it's actually VGA)... But these are just my assumptions, I am waiting for official spec...
As for the screen, thanks for giving a little hope that it can still be 2.8" and VGA as I had almost lost hope... But it could have been still better... My idea of an ideal display is 3.2" WVGA screen with 16m colors... Is that too much to ask for as of today??? |

While I thought that was the assumption this entire time, it seems the "Well what if we're wrong?" defense mechanism is kicking in and people (including myself) are doubting things that used to be held as true.
If you believe it to be a 2.8" VGA...then that is what I will believe until proved otherwise.
ETA: The pic at the bottom of this page (granted the P5 is only dexuani's rendering) makes it very believable that it could be 2.8.

Can anyone tell me, why the d-pad on the m-one's photo is so shiny? I thought it's similar to the rest of the phone (first 2 photos).

that more or less proves, that the display is framed in a matt black surface and the frame seems to be surrounded by glossy black surface (aswell as the d-pad) |

I still think there is a secret on below screen...
If really nothing why SE dont put larger screen they easily can do that .... and if something exist what was that? very strange...
1/3 of whole surface reserve with D-pad and around of that...why??really?
