No, of course not. It's quite difficult to operate if the light is not too strong as it uses low ISO and slow shutter. But when you learn to handle it, it really beats the cr*p of all CMOS camphones...

And BTW, your comments about noise, the i902 doesn't apply ANY noise reduction. If you want to clean up your photos you can easily do this on your PC. CMOS camphones on the other hand have already done damage to the photos that is very difficult to repair afterwards.

Case in point: full size 800x600 crops:

I would suggest getting a unbranded C902, since some branded phones you cant upgrade the firmware unless you debrand the phone. And to upgrade the firmware you just update using the sony update software.

dont get your point here, this 2 house pictures looks awesome for a cell phone, (and now i mean noise, details, etc).
they looks better then any i-mobile902 daylight picture ive seen.

even many portrait with c902 looks excellent in full size, (details, noise, etc)

i-mobile902 is absolutley best in night, but daylight, etc..there i prefer C902 all the way.

just took some i-mobile daylight pictures from Flickr.com just to show what i meant about weird contrast on daylight pictures,

whatever.... some cloudy pics by c902

@plankgatan,

Why did you post photos from Flickr to Imageshack? Why couldn't you just have linked directly to Flickr?

Not sure what your complaint is with those posted photos. You're complaining about noise and still post small photos to show as evidence. To me it seems that your nitpicking on the i-mobile 902 shots to find minor faults while you turn a blind eye to glaring faults in C902 shots (noise, purple fringing).

And you managed a few "bad" examples in a large collections of good ones. For more typical i902 shots check the collections of Shuuro, Natty Israel, WP2008, ziociccio or eejal...

But I agree that the SE C902 is a pretty good camphone and viewing the shots scaled down, some of them look amazing. But what's the point with a 5 MP camera (phone) if you can never enjoy the photos at full size, like when printing blow-ups? I like to make A3 and A4 prints of the shots I'm satisfied with and for that I wouldn't pick that camphone myself.

so ???? no 5 m.p. cell phone in the world produce 100% sharp full size daylight pictures (NOT EVEN I-MOBILE 902)... so what your point, that you "like" watching A3 or A4 sizes from i-mobile902.. (i print them in max A5... after that it dosent looks so super good i think)

edit. i didnt take some bad daylight pics from i-mobile902 on Flickr.com, i just took the 3 first i found. (and seriously, i look at some more, and all of them had same problem with details & contrast IN DAYLIGHT)

suuure... we all see this in many threads what's interesting, you have amazing talent to select the worst pictures from non SE phones and compare them to vivid sunlight SE pictures. coincidence? yes? well, in this case my name is James Bond

So now you bring in sharpness as one more fault. I've seen your super sharp C902 shots posted in the Photos Gallery. Out of 12 photos, just one lousy 5 MP shot and that's the one I posted a crop on the previous page. All other shots at 0.7 MP...

(i print them in max A5... after that it dosent looks so super good i think)

C905 shots at A5? Of course they won't look 'super good'. You shouldn't go larger 4x6.

The first three? So how did you search? Searching on 'i-mobile 902' sure doesn't return the one's you posted in the top! I count the car shot as the 16th hit.

abu.. who cares HOW i post my pictures, i post them i which size i want.
post your own pictures instead of thinking so much about HOW i post mine.

as long you dont have a computer screen over 20"..1024 x 768 is perfect good size for showing the whole picture. (i doubt there is so many who sits with 42" LCD screen as computer screens)

and who cares which i-mobile902 pictures i took ???? i can show you 20 more daylight pictures with weird contrast if you like....(I-mobile902 have problems with its daylight pictures. im not the first guy on planet who see that)

edit......
--------------------on topic:
have you seen this full size pics by c902 ??? (dont bother to post some more.....search this thread if you want to see some more full size)

they looks good enough for me

even indoor looks ok

The purpose with the Photos gallery is to show off camphone quality. You can't see the true quality from resized photos. I guess you don't want to show that but instead your skills as a photographer and photo editor...

Not if you want to know the true quality of a camera. 1024x768 is NOT the whole picture. It's only 15 percent of the whole picture. What about the remaining 85 percent you throw away? If you never use the full size of your photos, why bother buying a 5 MP camera (phone)???

Please note the rest of you guys reading this thread, that I'm not referring to the resized photos posted in this thread but the Gallery.

and who cares which i-mobile902 pictures i took ????

It's just the fact that you obviously were LYING!

There's no point going on with a discussion with some who's proving his point by lying and ignoring facts. The question is how much else of what he's saying can be trusted...

plankis, I think you're studying to become an architect. Have you thought of a career in politics...?

PLank takes 100 photos but only choose the top 5 photos best quality shots and resized them into this forums.
And
Did you guys notice that he posted mostly board daylight shots? Of course the quality is there.

Make sure you've got the newest FW. When I got the first release FW last month with my first C902, I wanted to cry. The phone froze every other day. Then there were frequent pauses when I was playing the music. There might be dropped calls too. I was momentarily cut off a couple of times during conversation. Fortunately, I got a replacement whose FW is R3BH002. Now, three weeks have passed & only ONE incident occurred. One evening, I thought I lost all my Media content when I turned on the phone. I turned off the phone, removed the battery & turned it on again, the Media contents all came back. Now I am very happy with this C902 again. It functions well & without the dreaded unreliability of recent SE phones. I would recommend anyone to get SE phones, especially this one, but only a few months after the initial release.

Very true. Resized pics are too small to see individual faces and details of buildings and cars. If 1024x768 is enough, why would anyone buy 8MP true digital camera. They buy them becoz they want to view the pics in full size seeing the amazing details.

At Plank,
Seriously, i'm sure you are much older than me. But i feel tt you are cheating on yrself that C902 has a good/best/top/amazing camera. Isnt that childish?

Thanks for the warning, but don't worry, I'm used to a W910i! Dionasaurus bought his C902 from the exact same supplier as me and he says his is on R3BA035 with no problems and there is apparently a firmware update available to him, so that sounds pretty good to me! Cheers.
