Looks, iPhone-ish? Not sure if it's back has the Arc design, but I guess if it had they would have gotten a photo of the side. And isn't it too early? A working prototype, 3 months early?
Although the design looks neat with the glass front and back and the protruding buttons on the side (which makes it just a bit more iPhone-ish), I expected the bezel would be thinner as mentioned by randomuser. And it still has the old UI, or does the 2013 UI only have minor changes?
Anyway, this is all just very surprising!

I agree with you on the design and on the fact that the bezel is on the large side.
Maybe ODIN will have the smaller bezel.

Hopefully they will do like last year and have all the phones look the same. This design a little smaller would be awesome! Love the fixed battery and no moving parts a lot. Go Sony |

Looks rather nice indeed. Can't wait to see what the rest look like. |

Am I the only one who does not like the design?
It's rather boring for my taste and IMO worse than all 2012 XPERIA designs except maybe Go and Tipo. |

To be honest, we need some better shots of the phone. There is no reference for size and you can barely see any of the details. Build quality will probably be top notch as it always is, I just need to see some hands on.
Besides, design preferences are subjective.

Just for a size reference, the HTC butterfly with a 5" screen is 5.68" (144.2 mm) x 2.8" (71.2 mm).
Compared to the largest Xperia phone from last year, the ION is 5.23" x 2.67" or 133 mm x 68 mm.
If the design of the YUGA does not change and based on the pictures it will be about the same size as the
HTC butterfly. |

This can't be the final design
- Power button looks tacked on and awkward
- LCD isn't flush into body
- Wierd mic design
Right now it's just fugly imo, but I think with some fine tuning ahead it looks like a winner.
Here's the original pic with shadows lightened

It looks a touch iPhone-y but that isn't very avoidable with glass front and back.
I like that they addressed the buttons down the side being too close and indistinguishable issue. On T the buttons are easy to get mixed up but with the larger gap to the camera button and completely different power button that is fixed.
The symmetry between the mic and the earpiece is nice for when the phone is in portrait. I notice there is no loudspeaker grill, this combined with the symmetry I just mentioned makes me wonder if the earpiece and mic grills double as stereo speakers...
Also, this looks waterproofed. Which is nice but does that mean it's the Japan version?

Nice new design from Sony. Hope there is a white version as this will get dirty quick with finger prints.

Android 4.1.1/ 12 megapixel camera are subject to change in the final version Also there could be a nice shock in store for those waiting for Yuga.
P.S. I absolutely LOVE the power key
