Sorted the phonebook problem. I think. If everybody knows this then please delete this post Masseur
The sim numbers are stored in the "general" catagory by default and cannot be moved to another catagory (as was mentioned in a post earlier).
Copy all the numbers you require from the sim to the phone which creates duplicates. It does'nt matter if you select merge or overwrite.
Then highlight one of the other catagories and press the menu button (above the arrow on the circular pad) to acess the catagory menu section.
Go to edit and select it. This takes you to the catagory details section.
Rename the catagory as something like "Phonebook" and confirm.
Next, select the members option and add all of the numbers that you transferred to the phone from your sim and press done.
Select you ringer Id
Press the done key and there you have it. Two lists which you can view seperatly saving the need to erase you sim numbers.
Hope this helps.

How close is 'this'?
If i could only get a definitive answer if itīs possible to change or add Swedish lang... Itīs a nuisance not to be able to use T9/Itap in your native language
On the other hand, if Gwen delivers it personally iīll have on like NOW!

Can you answer a call with one hand or is that dfficult?
(I assume this question also could be 'Can you open the flip with one hand or is that difficult)
Asking since I often get calles when I'm on the move and might be carrying stuff so only have one hand free to answer calls with.
I really really hate that moto only added 5MB space and
no way of increasing it. Otherwise I'd buy the phone right away.
Dammit why didn't you make a phone with this shell.

yeah, one handed opening isn't too hard and I just relearned the technique I used to use with the startacs. Holding the phone in your right hand just slide your thumb between the flip and casing and it opens easily.
I had a lot of difficulty doing this with the Z600 because the spring is very strong and its much the same on the V800 too

i am going to get either an s700 or a v3
I like the V3's looks, features, etc., but the major thing that turns me off is only 5mb of memory.

I think the V3 is still gonna be my number 1 phone and I'm almost tempted to keep the V800 now so it will take over second place from the K700 which will be relegated to the "old phones" drawer probably

Masseur- have you been able to work with the white balance on the v3 to make the picture any better?

I've played around a bit but as I mentioned before I'm not big into taking pics with phones except for a few snaps for here and for the odd email. I'll leave that to people who know more about digital photography

Just founf a fault to the temporary solution of viewing your phone's contacts only, rather than the sim. When you assign a caller ringtone, it uses the same ringtone for calls, texts, alarms etc. So i get the same ringtone for an incoming call as for a atext message which is really annoying.
Any suggestions?

That is the biggest downside to the motorola range, once you create a catagory and assign a ringtone to it, the ringtone plays for all calls, texts and alarms. I had a v600 and after a week i sold it because of this problem, really thought they would fix it on the next model. For me even though i love the look of the v3 that problem would certainly put me off buying one. |
