And again, I supposed SE will use Qualcomm chipsets(Snapdragon platform). But SE have signed contract with TI, so it looks close to impossible now.
It was me who supposed this chipset will be incorporated into the P5i after ares gave us some info of an Qualcomm chipset being used.
This has nothing to do with the W980 (Maria).
Signing a contract with TI doesn't necessarily exclude contracts made with other chipset manufacturers.

Yeah, my bad. 
I forgot it was ares who gave the start to that rumour and then you were the first who supposed it, but after that I kept supporting that.

With others - no, but with Qualcomm - yes. if SE chooses to use some Qualcomm chipsets instead of TI's, then its done.

Hi icka,
Well at least even with the OMAP 2 Series chip this will mean SE devices with have DSP at last. i also don't get your point about UIQ4 won't need a more powerful processor. As not only will the OMAP 3 chip offer more power but is also more power efficient as well. Like most things it is better to have the power and ability and not need it then to need it and not have it. Remember Nokia first used the OMAP 2420 in the N93 and that was June 2006 so this chip is now very old indeed.

I agree that UIQ4 won't require more powerfull chip, as SE want to make compatible even with midrange products...
but the new UI of both Maria & P5i have alot things that need to be accelerated in order to look nice, I mean just look at those old slides about picture gallery and media thing, this for sure need better chip or it will be slow !

i dont think so. beibei will more likely be a g series since it resembles the form factor common to all  g phones maria will likely be an X1 with walkman features

The problem is all trusted Beibei sources are confirming Beibei as Walkman phone !!
the above opinion I heard from Michell ( USEB ) and he also confirmed the Walkman natural of Beibei...
so Both are Walkman, the only deff. I currely know about Maria & Beibei, is that Maria is supposed to look very similar to Paris but without sliding and without keypad, only d-pad with 6 other keys...
