ok for some reason the p990 cannot enable GPRS on the phone. what the hell? tmobile (USA) says there is no outage.

is this a new FW problem? Cuz my gprs was active prior to upgrade

anyone can confirm their GPRS working?

after updating, no significant RAM incrase ~15mb, space bar bug is fixed, phone seems to be just as fast as previous FW. Nothing much changed so far

I was hoping they'd improve the RSS application to be able to upload OPML files

Does anyone know if the truncated playback of alarm sounds has been addressed? It would be nice to be able to go through my entire MP3 in the morning, rather than just hearing the intro over and over again.

Hi,

my P990i Organizer is still CXC162091 R5A17

i think that is not the latest firmware. so, today, after seeing ppl upgrade their P990i, i try to update using Sony Update Service.

But it says Latest software already installed. hmm.. weird. why is that? or my phone is locked to upgrade for latest fw?

i did try to ignore it and just continue, but it is still the same firmware R5A17..

i did missed out something right? clue? hint?

thank you.

@DingDang
the firmware usually starts with world generic 1 & 2 CDA...then other CDA's will follow in weeks time, even months...

Perhaps SE crapped up again... with the SEUS Update Bug! I was going to reflash the phone and expecting the program to state that I have already the latest FW, or press continue...
but as with the R5 fw, it came up as if a new fw would be available and then just flashed the files already on the PC.

At least that happened to me. Anyone else?

As for the rest, no significant or even insignificant improvement or change. Just the SpaceBar thing is fixed as a major fault. [addsig]

@my_p990i

that is, from my point of view, the most clueless thing about all this fw for me

ok, from my phone information, i have this :

Phone : CXC 162037 R9F011
Bluetooth : CXC 162058 R5A01
Organizer : CXC 162091 R5A17
CDA : CDA 162008/69 R6A01

so.. i should read R6A01 right? is that the latest one that all this thread been talking about? or there is problem with my SE update?

@Maratonmannen

do you use the SE Update program for windows that was endorsed by SE?

seems like i don't have the latest fw, but why SE update told me that i do have the latest one?

or, that is normal?

@DingDang

yup you have the latest firmware (right now is R5A17) for your CDA which is Taiwan Generic Trade...
but for us that have a world generic 1 & 2 CDA, the latest firmware right now is R6E28.
