Def go for debranding/upgrade cos ther are newer versions of the software which you may well find will solve the problem.

Dear SEunlock.co.uk,

Do u have any firmware for W950i which will enhance the walkman player volume since i heard due to EU regulations the SE devs have kept the volume low and also read somewhere that by changing the CDA to a non EU version will improve, is that true ? or can you guys develop a patch kind of thing which can increase the volume of music player of W950i because sound quality currently is horrible and also we cannnot set the equalizer manually, can you guys patch this ?

The volume is improved slightly by flashing with non EU CDA but not much, and as for a patch to adjust the equaliser manually that's not a bad idea, might give that a bash, but it wont be easy.

I'm dissapointed with my W950i too!
Sold my qtek and ipod just to get rid of all the cables but W950 fooled me with its volume limiter.
I just sent an email to SEunlock and I'm waiting his answer...
Can't wait for SEunlock to flash it with a US FW..

Anyway, I think in this forum everybody is waiting for the I-phone..

European regulations about volume output on mp3 players are strict -loud in ear volume causes longterm deafening- and Sony Europe respects them:-(
You live in Australia, so if you bought it there no limiter exists..don't worry.
What do you think of the W950 headphones volume? Is it OK?

have not used the hpm-82, only my panasonic hje-70's.....Volume was like k800...not as loud as w800, k750, w810,w900....they were the days when volume was much louder....little too soft for me now....I think our volume is the same as euro models as i think we get euro stock too, if that makes sense.... I want it louder, and the loud speaker too...

Dear Seunlock uk

you have to do something for all guys out there as everyone is highly disappointed with the sound quality of this phone. It looks more promising but its not. please do something to increase the volume. I am ready to pay 18 pounds if you do so. Please make this phone loud so that i can enjoy listening to mp3s on this phone, till then i will only use it as a hard disk to transfer data. Patch the equalizer and boost the volume. It has to sound louder than any other SE walkman phone thats why we have paid such a heavy price to buy it.

waiting for your reply.

I don't think that "low volume" can be related to the "sound quality" of the device. IMHO the W950 has outstanding sound quality. It is however a little low on the volume side. Thus you guys really shouldn't be putting people off of the phone by telling them it has poor sound quality, when in reality what you really mean is that it simply doesn't go loud enough for your particular tastes.

No????

OfficeMaven..
You pay 1 third of the price to buy an ipod and you consider it as valuable purchase. Can imagine an ipod with low volume? It would never become the IPOD. can you imagine a modern TV with a dim monitor? Makes no sense..

I'm wishing for a volume patch from SEunlock..
I'm paying double the money..I need it..Otherwise I just lost 600 euros buying W950i..
