I bought my W900i in New York about 2 weeks ago and it came with R5AH001 firmware. When i try to update it say that it is up to date. Would the sony ericsson service centers in the U.S be able to upgrade my firmware even though the phone never came out here in the U.S?? Please help me. Also, what does this firmware indicate about where this phone came from?

I wrote to se developper world in the forum for bugs and FW topics that it's not normal that they are not releasing any FW for the w900,and I listed some bugs to prove that we need the FW,what was the answer?

Yes only java me but when someone is asking about k750 FW he will get a nice answer even if it'as not related to java,I am telling you guys SE has big troubles making a new fw for us or just IGNORE the W900.

Just got my new W900i on vodafone uk, so it will be vodafone version of the firmware. It has R5BB001 firmware
EROM R2B001
Camera 2.9
One difference I noticed is there is now no play or pause displayed in fullscreen mode when playing videos. |

Just had my W900i returned because of a speaker fault. Software updated to R5AG. It was R5AF when i submitted it to them. When i rang to enquire how long they would have my handset i asked what the latest software/firmware version was available and they told me R5AG. I asked about R5BB and they said it is not yet available. Not sure what to beleive now!? |

Wolla.. Now im official an Sony Ericsson SOftware update centre.. I got today the Sony Ericsson Update Serice Pro kitt, and are just now upgrading my W900i to the newest software. Its the same software like the normal service points from SE has.. 
It's so nice....

SEUS still didn't have R1BB005......crazy!!
W800i new firmware also release on SEUS, why W900i's firmware cannot??

Not sure why everyone wants R5BB, it's not like it changes anything particularly useful that anyone's noticed. I'd rather a newer one that speeds up the interface, reduces crashing or enables 3G disabling.
