Why has nodarsixar not been banned??? He posts rubbish to promote his blog, and seems to be more of an annoyance in this thread
I come in here now and then and each time there is nodarsixar posting something ridiculous.

I think there's a lot more people that would be interested in an Android tablet since it's "Android". If it was a Windows tablet, I bet for the price of it you could buy a much more functional laptop.
Android on tablets sucks, it is nowhere near as good as the iOS experience. A windows based tablet would be able to do a lot more and have more standard applications available right away. As for price, well I am not referring to any higher end core systems, those would be too expensive, atom-on-chip or perhaps if cheap enough the new Core M, 4.5 and 3.5 W. Broadwell Core M is already at 14nm, something qualcomm and samsung can only dream of for now.
As Felimenta97 mentions, jumping into a 12 inch tablet market is probably not a good idea, focus on the 10 and 8 inch markets for now. |

This 12" tab sounds like a successor for the VAIO TAP 11 (was on my wishlist).
I believe Xperia is meant just for android devices (with the exception of the X1 and X5).
VAIO was for Windows solutions, but they sold/are selling that brand.
If the device were to be Windows it would leave two possibilities:
- They're expanding Xperia to cover all mobile device OSes
- They're creating a new brand/range (but why do that when they had VAIO laying dormant?)
I personally think IF this device exists it will be android.
I also think there is a new six and a half incher hiding somewhere in Kaz's inner jacket pocket waiting for it's time in the spotlight.
I have a dig bick You read that wrong |

I think the 12" tablet people are talking about is the VAIO prototype tablet pc, which is going to be announced/exhibited to the public next week in Osaka's Sony store.
And it is a pc, therefore not android, and this thing is expected to go into production and then to go on sale early next year... |

The Vaio "Prototype" tablet was announced a few weeks ago with a 12,3" display (2.560 x 1.704) running on an Intel "Haswell-H" Quadcore-SoC.

But I don't think that the recently rumored 12" tablet is that "Prototype" Windows tablet. With its high-price (>2000 USD) and features its competing with MS's Surface 3. A Galaxy NotePro 12.2 competitor from Sony has to be far more cheaper than its windows running sibling.

It will not be windows, xperia is android. I cannot see Sony expanding the xperia line to have windows unless...they opt for windows phone and windows 10 next year. My only wish was that it was windows since it would be a much better OS for graphic design and so even function.
I seriously hope Sony buys back Vaio. I cannot see myself buying a "vaio" without a sony logo. |

I really don't see the point in an Intel Core chip device running Android.. the reason you want to pay the premium for a Core chip is to run full Windows and the vast ecosystem of win32 programs that come with it..
Why not just stick to ARM if you are going to run a relatively simple mobile OS ? Or at least Intel Atom which is much cheaper... |

Softbank poaches Sony Xperia creative chief:
http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/0dc[....]l?siteedition=uk#axzz3HC7pzi8m
Softbank has poached a key member of Sony’s Xperia team to join the Japan-based rapidly growing telecommunications group. The latest hiring, of creative director Kichiro Kurozumi, continues billionaire Masayoshi Son’s talent grab but also delivers a blow to Sony which is in the throes of revamping its smartphone strategy.
The electronics and entertainment group, reeling from disappointing emerging market performance and a string of profit warnings, is expected to lower its annual smartphone sales target for the second time when it announces its earnings at the end of the month, a person briefed on Sony’s plans said.
Analysts say the impact of Mr Kurozumi’s departure on Sony’s smartphone strategy is unclear. Even without his exit, some analysts reckon Sony may need to take further steps to fix its smartphone business. Mr Kurozumi, involved in phone development since the days of Sony Ericsson, had been at the forefront of Sony’s push for the Xperia Z launched last year. |

Z3 ?? While using Z4 hardware ?
I wonder what different the Motionflow 120 will make; 3D ? Thought I know that MF XR 120 is not really 120fps
But interesting for sure, thanks @milukugiuniu
