I have been thinking to buy a Volcanic Black w902 for a while now and have now the opportunity to get one reasonably cheap. Its 3 month old and have no scratches and cost only 300 euro, (which is quite low for such new phone).
how is the headset who comes along ? |

@King9
I've tried quite a few of Sony's headset range including the highly coveted MDR-NC500D. While the $400 MDR-NC500D may sound nice with W902, I'd say the HPM-77 was made for W902 because it has more volume, has similar accuracy and bundled together which means it's free. Try it first and tell us what you think.

@mode, I definitely agree with you on the W902 and HPM-77. They sound great together. I tried using my Creative EP630s on my T700 with W902 acoustics and they didn't sound as good, even though I've always been using them with my other audio devices and liked the sound quality. When I reverted to my HPM-77s, the bass and clarity were impeccable.

Just wanna share the manual equalizer setting I use with you good people:
400Hz = +1 bar
1kHz = +1 bar
2.5kHz = 0 bar
6.3kHz = +3 bars
16kHz = +3 bars
Clear Bass can be set from 2 to 3 bars depending on whether or not you're a bass buff. I find that this setting spreads across all genres nicely, could be useful for those who are not keen on switching presets constantly. If you try it, do share your thoughts

I have the W902 now for 3 day's and a few problems.
backgroundlight is not very bright,my C902 was much brighter.
Alsow when i type a sms the backlight is changing from low to bright.
My shake controle doesn't work,push the button play than shake for next song??Nothing happens when i shake.
Spot on the left site when i pusch the button.
Have the latest firmware,should i sent it back for reparation?Or wait for new software but how long will that take.
Should i flash it with wotan's R3DA032
Allready updated with wotanserver.

Why isn't sony releasing this fw on their update service....I don't get why we have to pay sites like davinci or wotanserver to update the w902 phone-that-shuts-himself-down once in a while....sony is really pissing me off with this kind of a f#Šk-up... |

Same for me, it shuts down 3-4 times a week. Even the activity menu hangs almost every day. I send it in for service. Just got it back so I dont know if it is any better. Now the phone is an W902plus.... Just realized that the company i got it from have imported phones and use third part firmware. So the warranty is not valid in official service centers. So if I want to update it I have to send it in to the company or buy credits at wotanserver. SEUS will not do a update.
I will not buy anything from that company any more... |

Yeah, does anyone know what's the most current fw. I have R3DA026. Surely they can't think it's perfect. All of the stuff I said a few pages back and some of things you guys have pointed out are still nagging me. But the display pressure marks when you press the softkey...it's here to stay, so you should get used to it.

If you want to stop the battery cover moving around (almost completely) ...
Use Electrical insulation tape in the 2 locations shown in the image. The white
bits :-] (I couldn't find the black tape .... so it's not colour matched at the mo !)
Oh shoot, where'd that pictures go? glorfingal, can you please re-post the image? TIA

well after much searching I can't find the image - sorry about that.
I can remember that one piece has to go at the bottom of the battery
cover and the other goes at the top, on the left side when you look at
the cover from the inside.
